    This digitally remastered release is visually stunning! Colors are vibrant, brightness and contrast are exemplary and the sound is great for a 1963 film... as close to perfection as can be achieved for a Hollywood classic. I only wish that 20th Centu...ry Fox would invest the time and resources to release the 6 hour original version that Joe Mankiewicz produced. A wonderfully entertaining story. Taylor isabsolutely stunning and Randy McDowall performance as Octavian is wonderful. The extra disc with a "making of" documentary is a great addition. $20 spent is a incredible bargain for 4 hours of classic entertainment. Recommended highly! Read more Less

    and a reminder of what an extraordinary actor Rex Harrison was. This is a gem of a film for the cast, the fantastic costumes, the action, and the scenery. Some liberties are taken with History, but this is Hollywood. Well worth seeing every few year...s Read more Less
