this man is one of the best in bluegrassand is a good man at heart. I have a connection with him because my girlfreind is Jimmy Williams granddaughter and Jimmy played with Mac wisman back in the 60-80. Jimmy is featured on the song "Good Bye and So... Long to you" as lead singing and does mandolin on most of the abulms that Mac Wisman does. I would rate MAC's music 5 stars anyday and I think you would to if you enjoyed bluegrass like I do. • All Music Guide

Classic Bluegrass captures a 1976 recording session where Mac Wiseman re-recorded many of his earlier hits, plus a handful of new material. Instead of being tired retreads, these new versions nearly equal the originals, since Wiseman's voice has matured and is rich with nuance. Classic Bluegrass may not be the definitive Mac Wiseman album, yet it comes very close to fulfilling that bill.
