
French-born Chris Duran met Argentinean producer Roberto Livi while participating in a new talent casting in Madrid, where the young fashion model was studying economics. After moving to Miami, Chris Duran's self-titled debut album was released in 1998 by Polygram, featuring the hit singles "Baila, Baila, Baila" and "Te Perdi." Duran returned in 2001 with Why.
