Mechanical Keyswitches - Awesome!!!

Pros: Mechanical key switches, great quality feel, excellent tactile response, very small

Cons: Keyboard layout may need a little getting used to, version bought lacks a Windows key

This is a great little keyboard. It has a very small footprint and is great if space is a major consideration. I purchased a gray PS2 model with a U.S. English key layout. The keys are spaced out just like a normal sized keyboard, but they are arran...ged in a very compact layout (also some keys share more than one function, such as the F11 & F12 which are shared with the F1 & F2 keys). Of course, the dedicated numeric keypad that you most often see in a full sized keyboard is missing in this small compact. The tactile response on this little keyboard is very nice. It is not quite the same response that you would get from an IBM Model 'M" keyboard, but you still have the 'clicky' feel every time that you depress any of the keys. Also the overall quality of the keyboard is felt immediately after you start typing. Some bad points: I do frequently make use of keyboard shortcuts which often include the 'Windows' key in the combination. This little keyboard does not include the 'Windows' key (I think Cherry might sell one with a 'Windows' key, however, the one that I happened to purchase might be an older model). Still this is not a major impediment in typing fast as there are still several keyboard shortcuts that don't really require a 'Windows' key. The fact that there was also just one 'CTRL' (control) key on the keyboard was a little challenging at first, since my typing style was to use both left and right control keys depending on the control key combination. For its compactness, though, the missing keys is very understandable. Despite the minor bad points, my impression is that this is a great little keyboard with excellent feel. I'm looking into purchasing at least 2 more (one for my laptop and one for work). Read more Less
