Despite all odds, British punk stalwarts Chelsea carved out a recording career that lasted more than a decade, recording amateurish, slow- to midtempo working-class anthems. Vocalist/songwriter Gene October was the only constant throughout the band's ever-shifting lineup, which initially also comprised guitarist James Stevenson, bassist Geoff Myles, and drummer Chris Bashford.
