Soul singer Charles Crawford released just one single, "A Sad Sad Song"/"Fat 'N Funky," for the Hy-Sign label in Shreveport, LA in 1973. "A Sad Sad Song" was a slow ballad very much in the pleading Otis Redding style, prefaced by a long spoken introduction that, even by the standards of soul music, wallowed in bathos. It's been reissued on the Kent compilation Shreveport Southern Soul: The Murco Story.
