    She might not be Sarah McLachlan, but is she is definitely beautiful. Deeply engaging and compelling, Orton weaves the warmth of folk with the ambience of electronic so seamlessly that it will satisfy even the extreme of sceptics, and then some.

    a much more subdued record than trailer park. But it also has a great remix of the title track. A great album to mellow out with. She reminds me of Edie Brickell only with better music. a kick @$$ record.

    I hated the direction that music seemed to be leading into . It was just damn horrible . Someone finally came along to change my views . That someone was Jeff Buckley . For me the future of music died with him on that day on May 1997 . It was a trag...ic feeling . Then one day I heard Beth Orton . Her music made my heart soar . It had been ages since that had ever happened . I would like to thank her for being such an inspiration to me , for coming along and rescuing the joy of music for me and , I'm sure , many others . By the way , I bloody well love the song Centeral Reservation . It's an angel of a song . But then I guess the rest of the songs on the album and the album and EP before it are too . Read more Less

    Music as music is meant to be! My personal favourites are Sweetest Decline, Central Reservation and Pass in Time. I'm looking forward to her third album.

    Beth Orton's Central Reservation is a musically delicious sound to my ears. It's jam-packed with music that is intelligent and strong. She embodies femininity and strengh with her vocals and accompaning instrumentation. This album is part Lucinda Wi...lliams, Fiona Apple and Dolores O'Riordan (of the cranberries).     This new album of Beth Orton is simply spellbinding! Her soothing voice matches perfectly the mesmerizing atmosphere of the music. My personal favourites are 'Stolen Car' and 'Central Reservation (The Then Again Version)'. You should definately list...en carefully to 'Feel To Believe', it's probably the most intense song of the album. The way her voice intertwines with the magnificent chords she plays on her guitar really touches me! Read more Less
