    A warm feeling in your Belly

    This has to be the Greatest movie ever made. There are only so many films where you get that attached to any chacter and this is one of the best. After seeing this film you were Glowing and would always be bacause you saw this film.

    Wonderfully peculiar film

    This is one of those movies you're either crazy about or you loathe; I haven't met anyone who's seen it and been indifferent to it. Be warned, I'm firmly in the former camp. The movie is more comedy than drama, hilarious when you least expect it, b...ut there's nothing broad or predictable about it. It concerns two young women, one a librarian studying witchcraft, and the other the world's worst cabaret magician, who happen to meet and then find themselves involved in a kind of haunted-house mystery, where they are compelled to return, again and again, to an empty house and relive something that apparently happened in the late 1940s: a little invalid girl lives with her brooding father, her aunt (sister of her dead mother) and her mother's best friend. Both the adult women are after the father, who has sworn never to remarry while the child lives. Murderous plotting ensues. The fourth character in the haunted house, a nurse, is alternately embodied by the two present-day girls who seem to fall into the repeating drama by eating hard candy. (Hey, I told you this is peculiar.) It goes on and on, swimming against the usual current as the ghost story, glimpsed in flashbacks, becomes progressively LESS ominous as more and more of it is revealed. I love this odd flick so much I bit the bullet and paid ninety bucks for it a couple years back, and NOW it's finally available for $29 and worth every penny, provided you've an appetite for the absurd, anyway.     the synopsis is incorrect

    I really like this movie, but don't bother reading Yahoo's synopsis, it is incorrect. It does have two young women, who trip on acid and get involved in magic and dreams. It's a confusing movie and I'm not sure what it's about anymore. But it ain't ...what them fellers at Yahoo say. Read more Less
