    Subpar little camera

By JC  Dec 4, 2006 | 4 out of 4 found this Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z60 review helpful

Pros: Size, solid metal body, tons of image adjustments

Cons: Terrible LCD screen, pictures are fair to poor

I just returned this camera after having it for 2 weeks. This is a camera you WANT to love - small, sleek, solid metal construction, tons of image adjustment options. Unfortunately it disappoints where it counts which is it's pictures. Pictures c...ome out "soft" missing detail, you notice this if you blow them up beyond 4"X 6", the shake reduction feature works but further degrades the pics, pictures become very "noisy (grainy) during indoor shots or any shot that is not in bright light and where it not dark enough for flash. Also camera tends to over saturate colors, especially reds. This becomes worse in lower light. The LCD screen is terrible, you can't see it at all outside and the image on it is grainy and of poor quality. I thought my camera was defective so I went back to the store to exchange, same problems. I finally returned it. I can't recommend it. Read more Less

    Good Starter

By jgurbisz  Apr 7, 2007 | 1 out of 1 found this Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z60 review helpful

Pros: Sexy, Sleak, Lighweight, Ease Of Use, Good Picture Quality

Cons: Picture Quality Could Be Better, Small Buttons

Overall this is a good digital camera for starters, it offers a wide range of settings, the picture quality is not the "best" but is in no way bad. The buttons can become cramped and are impossible to press if say wearing gloves. The batter...y is excellent lasts up to 250 plush photos w/ flash. The camera performs great in cold weather, and does not lock up. The camera is also quite durable. But... I would not buy this camera if you are a professional photographer, it is merely a camera for starters or people who just enjoy taking pictures for fun. Keep in mid the Casio Exilim EX-Z60 Was build that of a point in shoot (snap shot camera) so those are the results you will get. Read more Less

My Love-Hate Casio Exilim EX-Z60 Relationship

By Amy S  Mar 23, 2007 | 1 out of 1 found this Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z60 review helpful

Pros: Sleek, compact size, massive LCD, pretty good MP

Cons: Pictures are awful when you don't go into 400 different settings for them, flash is wretched, etc.

I have owned this camera for nearly a year...and it depresses me oh, so much. Recently, I've gotten into amateur photography, and I finally realized just how...well, awful, this camera is. When you have an INCREDIBLY steady hand, the pictures MI...GHT turn out good, because the flash is off. But low light? Forget it. And the flash? Oh man, don't get me started. You can't take a SINGLE indoor shot with this thing without tons of little "ghost orbs" in the shot with the flash on. And the numerous "settings"? Ugh. They're absolutely nothing. I got excited about them in my ignorance a year ago...but now I see they are just minor focus adjustments and ISO adjustments. I love the size of this camera. Everything else?...Ugh. PS- The ISO is wretched as well. Read more Less

A wonderful camera for the $

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 28, 2006 | 1 out of 1 found this Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z60 review helpful

Pros: have had no problems with it so far

Cons: the screen on the back could be a little clearer...

this is a really good buy for the money... pictures downloaded on to the computer have better quality than what you view on the camera screen. so far nothing but goodthings to say....

    Meh

By Des  Sep 22, 2006 | 2 out of 4 found this Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z60 review helpful

    Pros: price, size

    Cons: picture quality

I'm usually a Sony, Canon or Kodak fan when it comes to cameras. I've owned all three in the past and none has ever "done me wrong" in any way. However, my sister purchased the Casio Exilim camera early this year and since my clunky..., analog Canon Rebel G was not condusive to being shoved around in an overly crowded hotel for Dragon*Con, I 'borrowed' the exilim. Plus, I wanted something I could upload to the internet quickly and film would have taken a day or two to first develope, then upload individually via scans, or, if I was feeling generous, from a disk. Upon 'borrowing' the camera from my sister, rather stealthly btw, it endured a quiet, albeit long trip from Miami, FL. to Atlanta, GA. by car. Though, the ensuing days were not as lucky. It was jostled about a bit, fell on my foot and was taken on a magical, mystical tour of the Georgia Aquarium. At first I thought it was doing great, most of the pictures looked really sharp and the colours popped even in low light. There were a couple of blurs but that happens occasionally. It wasn't until I got home and looked at all the pictures in their full size did I realise the extent of blur. Every single picture was blurry. I know I'm not the worlds best photographer, however, I know how to use a camera, I've taken classes! There was no reason for all of the pictures to be blurry, and the picture clarity actually improved slightly after the fall on my foot. Perhaps I ought to have dropped it a few more times. Meh! If you're just a weekend photographer, or you want something fairly inexpensive for silly pictures, this is the camera for you. However, if you're me and you love photography and feel slighted when more than 5-10 of over 500 photos are developed blurry this isn't the camera for you. I'd go with Canon or Sony, they are two stand-bys, especially in this digital age that I trust implicitly with my photos. Read more Less

    Pros: Slim size, nice settings

Cons: no manual settings, semi or full manual

This was my first ever camera and i think that it s very very easy to use and excellent for first timers. Admittadly, there are no semi automatic or fully automatic features but what did you expect on a begginners camera? Overall an excelent camera ...and one that i reccommend you to buy! Read more Less
