The EXILIM CARD EX-S600 series is the next evolution in the popular line of ultra-slim card-sized high-resolution digital cameras of CASIO. In addition to 6 mega pixel photos, a major addition to this line is the EX-S600's ability to reduce camera shake instantaneously when recording quality MPEG-4 movies.

The EX-S600's ability to take state-of-the-art movies instantly and easily adds to the versatility and fun of this powerful and high quality digital camera. The EX-S600 fits conveniently in any pocket to go wherever you go, ready to quickly capture special moments. No matter how spontaneous the situation, the EXILIM engine's Anti Shake DSP reduces blurring caused by shaky hands and/or moving subjects, and the Auto Macro and Quick Shutter functions ensure that photos are properly focused.

In addition to enhanced resolution, the EX-S600's 3X zoom and increased battery life allowing up to 300 shots per battery charge provide significant photographic flexibility. The BEST SHOT menu includes the new Revive Shot, created specifically for taking digital pictures of old album photos. Revive Shot adjusts for obliquity as well as brightly refreshes faded colors. Whether framing a shot, reviewing images, or watching movies, everything is brighter when displayed on the adjustable 2.2 inch LCD-approximately twice as bright as previous models, making it ideal for outdoor use. Small enough to conveniently carry wherever you go, the EX-S600 has one-touch buttons that allow quick start up of the camera to view images and take pictures, as well as one for taking movies, all designed to quickly capture special moments. The EX-S600 connects easily to a TV or PC via the multi cradle, which also doubles as the battery charger.

The EX-S600 continues the EXILIM CARD tradition of offering cutting-edge technology packed into a small, slim, and stylish body. With high quality photos, advanced movie recording capabilities, and a tremendous range of remarkable functions, CASIO once again exceeds expectations by providing a conveniently portable means of preserving memories to be cherished for a lifetime.

    Cool but delicate

    Pros: Size, ease of use

    Cons: Fragile

We had the EX-500 (predecessor to this model) and loved it. But my wife dropped it in the ocean; it never worked properly again. So we got the EX-600-for essentially the same price. I got the extended warranty from Circuit City because of what happen...ed with the previous model. Sure enough, just a few months later, I dropped it on a rock-and the LCD broke. It took about 3 weeks but Circuit City evaluated and gave us a full credit. I ended up getting the same camera. The 600 doesn't work as reliably as the 500; sometimes it won't turn on and you have to take the battery out to "reboot" it. There also seems to be more shutter lag than with the 500. Other than that, still the easiest to use digital camera out there with fantastic close up shots. Just make sure you get the extended warranty. Read more Less

Pros: Compact, durable, easy to use

Cons: Can't say anything bad about them

I have a couple of these cameras and know of about 10 other people with these cameras and none of us has ever had any problems with the camera. I have used my Casio at drag races, car shows, in active rock quarries, riding dirt bikes in the mountains... of Honduras and the only reason I have two of them is I bought a new camera with a higher pixel rating. Casio Exilim EX-S600

This small, thin camera doesn't sacrifice much in its quest for portability. At just over 0.6-inch thick, Casio's Exilim EX-S600 is one of the thinnest cameras I've seen--it's small enough to slip into a shirt or pants pocket without causing any unsightly bulges. The model costs $350 (as of 2/6/06) and is available in three colors to coordinate with your outfit: "sparkle" silver, "fiesta" orange, and "mistral" blue. Read more
