"Cool Down Mame", a minor bit of rockabilly philosophy, was originally recorded by The Farmer Boys in 1956 for a Capitol singles release. While it is known that this Arkansasbased group consisted of Bobby Adamson and Woodie Wayne Murray, the exact identity of the Carroll and Hicks songwriting team credited with concocting the ditty remains something of a mystery. Cover versions eventually came forward courtesy of artists such as the Starliners and Ray Condo and His Richochets.
