Pros: Pacino
Cons: too short
I am a big fan of Al Pacino. His performance in this film is as good as any. The other cast members give quality performances as well. A well written story that includes a fair amount of suspense. Great movie, and a must see for fans of Pacino or crime flicks.
This is the role Al was born for! Great movie with a great cast & memorable performances throughout. A must-have DVD for any collector of fine movies.
I love this movie so much this is one of my favs from al but of course scarface is my fav but this is right below it scarface but this is one of the best films ever made
OK 2 THAT GUY WHO SAYS THAT THIS MOVIE IZ BETTER THAN SCARFACE, UR WRONG MAN
When I first saw this movie, i cryed, all because its sucha good damn movie, excellent performance by pacino and penn
You won't be disappointed in this movie.
This movie is Pacino's best. And it's better than
the brilliant 'Scarface'.
In this one Pacino
want's to be the good guy but is brought back into the
criminal world with the help of his lawyer and old
friends.
The whole cast is brilliant and you see the odd
scene, what Carlito use to be like, mainly the fight
with Benni Blanco from the Bronx.
This movie is one
of the best of the 90's, just behind
'Heat'.
PACINO SETS THE SCREEN ON FIRE IN AN DE PALMA
CLASSIC.
WHEN WILL THEY REUNITE.
"Carlito's Way" is a tragedy defined by the superb peformance of Al Pacino. Again, Pacino successfully manages to replace a suppressed ego with the psyche and pecularities of another personality. The result is a believable, realistic character reminiscent of the great tragic heroes whose demise is due to their own failings.
Typically excellent direction, committed acting
and a well-proven storyline make Carlitos Way a film
that you wont be disappointed with. The all to
familiar bad guy wants to go straight but one fling
plot has become almost a genre in itself over recent
years, but Brian De Palmas vision helps to create a
moody, stylish and tense thriller out of an already worn
theme. De Palmas direction and camerawork are as
superior as ever, and the fiercely conceived chase scene
that ends in Grand Central Station is reminiscent of
De Palmas earlier The
Untouchables.
Performances are of high quality too, but what else would you
expect from Al Pacino? Sean Penn is great as the corrupt
lawyer, but almost unrecognisable in 70s styles. As a
complete package, a very solid and satisfying film, though
I recommend it is watched wide screen De Palmas
love for the camera means he utilises the full frame
constantly and its conversion to full screen is quite
shocking, distorting the presence of many camera shots.
Carlito's Way is an absolutely astonishing film. It features two wonderful actors in Pacino and Penn. As this movie unfolds I was dazzled by the remarkable character development as well as by the non-stop excitement. The ending was shocking to me and left me in a state of awe. Carlito's Way is the greatest movie ever made!
This is the one of most powerfull gangster film i have ever seen.Must seen.
