Synopsis: Captains of the Clouds (1942)
Synopis: A better-than-average WWII flagwaver, CAPTAIN OF THE CLOUDS is told from the point of view of the Canadians. James Cagney and his daredevil flying buddies enlist in the Royal Canadian Air Force thinking that years of dangerous aerial feats have acquainted them with mid-air derring-do. Pros: Great footage of Canada in the 1940's
Cons: Not enough Nazi's
This is a must see movie for anyone interested in the British Commonwealth Air Training Schools during World War II. James Cagney and Alan Hale plus other great actors portray bush pilots of the Great White North who compete for business, but soon hear the call to fight "For Country and for King!"
Great footage shots of Canada in the 1940's.
Note: Music score by Warner Brothers is used many times later in Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck cartoons. ...
