    Pros: size, design, picture quality, features

    Cons: the orange light on the front, its blinding!

    i needed an upgrade from my 3mp cam, and after reviewing and searching and all, i decided this is the one that looks the most promising. i searched for about 2months online. anyway! i went to the store and checked it out, WOW! bought for under $200 a...nd the picture quality is just BAM, awesome! if you have it on the right mode, you can see pores, lines, the fuzz hair on peoples face. i know maybe you dont want too see those things, but im talking about when you max the picture on your pc for viewing . at a smaller size its a flawless , literally perfect picture. no exaggeration whatsoever. i have to say the only 2 things i dont like at all, is the orange lite on the front when your snappin pix , its enough to blind besides the flash. and the optical or digital isnt great indoors, but i dont need to zoom in the house, so who cares. outside photos are just as beautiful. now i have had the camera for about 1 week now , so im still getting the hang of it... but i say try this camera, if has something that you want, try it, more then likely you wont be sorry!     Pros: great pics

    Cons: It should come with a case :)

    Love this camera. Had a Sony W5 for a few months until recently and it was stolen. So after alot of searching I found this one. Still missing my Sony I was sure Id buy it and hate it. But i Love it. The design to me makes it easier to hold. The scree...n is plenty big to see the photos nicely. It isnt as compact as alot of cameras these days, but I still love the way its made. Pictures come out as good if not better than the Sony. So Im very happy with it! (Then again Im not a real picky person :). Read more Less

    Pros: good price good video

    Cons: low res. preview screen, 'bulky' design.

    This is my fourth digicam i had in live. I tried kodak, panasonic, and sony. So this is my first canon. ----------------- I am very impressed with the video result. For a digicam, it produces video almost like a video cam. Not perfect, but it's p...retty nice coz I'm so into youtube right now, and this is just what I need. -------------------- All my digicam has always been cute, slim, and compact. But this one is pretty bulky. I almost ashame to use it in public, coz it looks cheap. The A530 was also bulky, but at least it was darker, unlike this one. Sooo plastic! ---------------- The still images are good. I've never had a 'night' feature on my digicams before, so I was surprised with this one. and when you preview the pic, try to tilt it 90 degrees, and the pic will automaticly rotated. Really cool! ----------------------- Some of the pics are blurred or dark though.. but maybe that's just because i haven't understand the features enough. I just bought it today. Will have to learn how to use it properly. ----------------- SD cards are still expensive here in japan, and actually I hate cameras with AA bateries... -_-' --------------- Anyways,... for 19.900 yen.. This is JUST FINE! :D Totally saved me to make my presentations, coz both my previous digicam and video cam are broken. Read more Less

    Pros: Picture quality and large LCD screen

    Cons: Basic manual info not in advanced manual

    I love this camera, and I have been a photographer with film for many years. Still take film, but for quick point and shoot- I put away my film cam. When I got the camera, it turned on in Japanese and I couldn't figure out how to get it out sinc...e they didn't include the basic manual. Had to print it out from their website. However, the Canon tech support was great when I called them and had it working in about a minute. Many features... probably more than anyone will ever use. But, again... I have found no shortcomings with this camera and have some beautiful pictures from our vacation in southern Utah. Read more Less

    Pros: It's easy to use and it give great pics

    Cons: It's bulky and flash is blinding

    I bought this camera 1 year ago. It worked perfectly this whole time. I had no problem with it. Once in a while you may get a blury shot. But it only happens once or twice. I use this camera everywhere I go; the movie, vacation, and even at home. Som...e people say that it not this good with pics but I totaly disagree. This camera works like a charm this camera is one of a kind. I would buy any other. Read more Less

    Pros: video with sound, color accent feature, and screen size

    Cons: battery life is aweful

    This camera is excellent, with easy to follow directions and clear cut menus to customize your photo quality. The size of the screen makes viewing photos very convenient. The color accent feature is amazing. Take a picture in front of the fireplace ...choosing only the red of the stockings - the photo will be black and white with red stockings! Looks professional!! I'm so very disappointed with the battery life. I went through the two batteries that come with it within hours. Bought cheap rechargeable ones and they only lasted a day. I then went back and bought rechargeable Energizer E2's to see if that makes a difference. If not, photolab said to return camera - it may be a flaw... I hope it is and that this is not the camera design! Read more Less

    the camera gives two fantastic functiona... Av(aperture value) and Tv (time value)........those who understand the true use, actually admire this. Another thing in A540 is its Manual FOCUS function. My ! i can manually focus anything i want, anything... so cloasr that the zoom lens actually touches it ! best for taking close-ups !!!     Pros: Manual Features, Various modes, quality photos, Flash, Micro mode and all other features.

    Cons: High refresh time if flash is used, not soft switching between play and display mode, not slim in look.

    I am fully satisfied with this product because I have been looking for a camera in my budget having all manual features since a year. Finally I got to this one and tried. Really awesome! Have compared results with other SLRs and digital cameras and ...felt better enough. No product is complete and this is not an exceptions but worth to buy it as a first camera if having photography as one of your hobbies. Read more Less

    Pros: Great pictures, Large LCD Screen, easy features! Small and compact!

    Cons: No image stabilization

    The only thing that would make this camera perfect is image stabilization on Zoom - blurry pictures if not on a tri-pod.

    Otherwise, small, easy to use, easy to understand features and LARGE LCD scren!!

    A great all around camera for the photo hog!
