Pros: Takes excellent photos
Cons: Flash goes out and Canon has awful customer srv.
I am disappointed with this camera. We've owned it 1 1/2 years and the flash went out and due to the one year warranty expiration, Canon refused to repair it for an acceptable price. The cost to repair the flash was anywhere between $100-$150, for that price we can buy a new camera from another manufacturer.
Pros: Great macro and color
Cons: night shots and telephoto sometimes not so clear
I really love this camera! It user friendly and produces great photos! I get a lot of compliments on my shots with this camera.
Pros: Great zoom feature, many different features allow you to take many different pics to play with, small fits in pocket or purse
Cons: some pics come out blurry but I am sure its this user that's the problem!
I have a larger more expensive SLR camera by Canon but sometimes I longed for a small camera to just shove in my purse and go. I bought this one because I am already used to Canon and how they work. Plus this camera takes GREAT pictures for a great price. I got it at Circuit City for $179 and I know that you can get it cheaper at other places when its on sale.
Pros: Outstanding Picture quality, Ease of use. Value
Cons: WB is tricky. Don't use the digital or optical zoom if you can.
I've use many different cameras through the years...from a Yashica 35mm to the latest Nikon D80 DSLR. I bought the Canon SD750 as a point and shoot alternative to shoot my Ebay product photos. I would say this little 'dynamo' delivers outstanding quality photos at a very good price. The Macro function w/ camera set to manual and the WB set to 'tungsten' produces top flight product pics for Ebay. This PowerShot uses Canons CMOS sensor which I believe is superior to Nikon's CCD. The quality of the pics is very, very good and time spent in Photoshop 'jazzing' up or 'fixing' the photos, has been reduced dramatically.
I would recommend that you do not use the zoom function as digital noise may be rather pronounced. Instead, use the "Teleconverter" function set to 1.5x or 1.9x to get the focal range that works best for you.
This little Camera is Better than you think.
Pros: Image quality, design, functions, modes, vivid colors, easy navigation
Cons: occasional out-of-focus shots during digital macro shots, no shake reduction [visible to me]
Its sleek design doesn't do it justice. Although the 3.0x Optical Zoom isn't such a big deal, as more and more cameras with more than 5.0x Optical Zoom lenses are being manufactured everyday, it does produce shots so vivid that digital pictures look even better than the real subjects!
The 3-inch LCD monitor is probably one of the biggest craze in the external part of the camera, but I find the buttons the biggest craze. It takes some getting used to, probably after two hours of fiddling around with it. With me it took me the same time to understand what everything meant, and by two in the morning, I was already taking pictures of anything that has color.
Internally, there is so much to play around with. There is the macro display, which enables the photographer to take close up shots with vivid colors. Another one is the color accent, wherein the photographer can get a certain color from his subject, and that color will be the only one present while the everything is will be black and white.
Easy navigation, great auto-focus, auto-rotation, vivid colors and image quality make up for its occasional out-of-focus "moments" whenever I use the digital macro function. At first I didn't like the shutter lag, via other reviewers, but after using the camera, I didn't even notice the lag. I thought it was a big problem.
I only wish there was a shake reduction in this camera... or maybe there is, and I haven't found it yet.
