Pros: its great.
Cons: there are NO cons.
its fantastic.
everyone should buy one.
but dont lose it.
okay.
thanks.
bye!
Pros: everything from shutter speed, battery life, reviewing pictures, to functions
Cons: haven't found anything yet
I have had this camera over a year now, my husband and I bought it the weekend before our daughter was born. We LOVE IT!! It was small enough that he could put it in his pocket and light enough that sometimes he had to double check that it was still there. The battery life is great, if you buy the extended life battery. Shutter speed is fabulous. It is a great camera.
Pros: Good Quality, Nice Photo, User Friendly
Cons: Weak Battery Performance
I've been using this camera for nearly 1 year, the camera is good, quality, features all top class, only thing was the battery consume very fast! If you are the reporter this camera sure not suitable for you, unless get a spare battery or else you can use it less then an hour !
The Battery itself (840maH) is not good enough, get a spare COMPATIBLE BATTERY with high power (1200mAH) and lower price!
*Good camera need more power*

Pros: Excellent Quality, easily useable
Cons: Needs better zoom
I found that I was able to get some amazing shots with this camera. The only fault is that I think it needs a better zoom. Other then that I would highly recommend this camera to anyone. It is easy to use, has some nice features and Quality of the picture is fabulous.
I was selling my car and took some pictures and had them developed at my local store and they detail was amazing.
Pros: Picture Quality
Cons: Weight
I have been using the camera for some time now and have all the good things to say about it. Went on two vacations and the picture quality have been good. Have an additional battery but have not opened the plastic cover of the same yet. I would recommend you go for a car charger instead of an additional battery as I have found that to be more useful.
Cons:
a. Weight. Small is good but a little bulky for the size.
b. Shooting under half lit conditions. The camera doesnot get its act together in auto mode under such conditions. The colours dont come out as vividly as seen by the naked eye.
Overall a self pat on my back on a good buy.
Pros: body, speed, quality of photos
Cons: none
Great camera, no complains, and suggest you get the camera pouch made by canon, best accesory for this thing. Also get another battery, they have aftermarket ones that last almost twice as stock, I have 3 for no stop schooting. Photo quality is exceptional, but on the soft side.
Pros: size
Cons: there are none
This is the best camera hands down!!!! Havent had no problems with this and the price compared to any other cameras in this price range
Pros: small, sleek, video capture and direct printing
Cons: small for people with big hands thats about it.
The s400 is an awesome digital camera. Being that this is my 5th digital camera , i started with two Ricoh's since i worked for them, then i came to Canon and i started with the s100 and loved it then i upgraded to the s200 which added the video capture feature. Then finally got the s400 which has all of what the s100&s200 had but more. Picture quality is great and another added feature is that you can plug the usb into some of the printers directly and print from the camera. It works great with the i80 printer.
Overall I think the s400 is great for a person that wants to point and shoot or capture a 1 to 3min video. Software is also easy to use.
Pros: Small
Cons: Flash is too powerful, automatic mode produces poor pictures
The pros are obvious, and I do recommend the camera to users who don't mind shooting in manual mode. The camera does a bad job of automatically detecting the white balance and ISO speeds, so I almost never shoot in auto mode. Pictures taken indoors will look yellow, and flash pictures will often turn the subjects pale.
I shoot all my pictures in manual mode, and am very happy with the quality. However, it makes it hard if a friend takes my camera and says "Smile", since the results will be unpredictable. But if I can set up the camera first, it's no problem.
Pros: everything
Cons: small memory card
This camera is da' bomb. We bought it on sale from wal-mart. We got a crazy deal on it. I have compared it with my relatives that have spent more on their cameras, and it is far superior. We bought a new memory card for like $30 and that one holds some 75 pictures. I didn't think we would use it very much, but we take it everywhere. It is so small and compact, but takes excellent pictures and they are pretty steady. It is cool how you can zoom in on the pictures and see even more detail. We hook it up to the tv and check out all the pictures with the people we take them with.
Best camera ever
Pros: Small, uses Compact Flash Card, Metal Case, Lots of features
Cons: Very poor focus, poor color and lots of redeye indoors when using flash
This camera is a disappointment. I have been a photographer for over 30 years. I have a good 50 quality cameras. The ads boast about better "9 point" focus for sharper pictures. 30% of all my indoor flash photos with this S400 are out of focus and most everyone has poor color, and people have redeye. I sent it back and Canon did say it had problems. They said they corrected the trouble yet it still performs poorly. My older Canon S330 takes better indoor photos. My Kodak Digital Cameras take much better photos - clearer, brighter, and much less redeye.
Pros: compact, lightweight, sturdy, user friendly
Cons: none
it takes great quality pics and is very easy to use. i have used it almost everywhere, ranging from a backpacking trip in the grand canyon to just around my house. the battery life is incredible and can go with out charging for a very long period of time with many pictures being taken. overall it is an awesome buy.
Pros: Compact, flexible settings
Cons: Irritating flaws
I've had the camera for a little over a year and I would certainly recommend it to anyone (in fact, several of my friends already have the S400). It seems to have a lot of great functions, though admittedly, I don't use them. For basic, every-day use it's perfect because it's compact and very point-and-shoot.
Two major flaws however involve the shutter button itself and timing of the pictures. Many, many times I find myself saying "smile!.... ok, wait....hold on... ok, now smile...wait..." The button has 2 settings, press 1/2 way for locking the focus, pressing the rest of the way snaps the picture. The button seems to get snagged on something internally and will not go beyond the first point no matter how hard I press. Wiggling the button or just starting all over works best. The other is the time it takes to snap the picture...im some cases it's instantaneous, in others, it takes a few seconds longer that you'd expect and the moment is over. It could be the internal software doing lighting or focus calculations...whatever..
..it's still annoying. Overall though I really do love this camera...the quality is usually great, no matter what kind of lighting.
Pros: Easy to use; beautiful pictures; very compact size
Cons: Doesn't take great shots at night
I would recommend this camera to anyone who wants great pictures and doesn't want to lug around a large camera. The S400 fits easily into all my purses, even the small ones, and takes very high quality pictures. The only frustration I have had thus far (I've owned the camera for about 6 months now), is that it does not take very good outdoor shots at night. I haven't been able to figure out how to adjust the settings to make it better at nighttime, and perhaps there isn't a way at all ~ but none the less, I pretty much stick to just daytime and indoor shots. The results I have had are fabulous and everyone always comments on how great my pictures turn out. I adore this camera and have never regretted purchasing it.
Pros: Good feature set, excellent quality
Cons: Paint wears off...
Great features. good picture quality. great for an amateur to pro.
Recommed this to everyone!!! Steal in this price.
Pros: very clear pictures
Cons: no way to set shutter speed
I found this camera online on a small digital camera site for around $270, but I also purchased a cannon "picture printer" so I recieved a $100 rebate. This camera takes exceptional pictures. The only complaint that I have is with the digital zoom. I guess that a fuzzier picture is to be expected, but the quality of the digital zoom, even on a low level, is often poor. Otherwise, the camera is a wonderful deal.
Pros: Ease of use combined with quality product with loads of features.
Cons: sometimes when shooting in night vision does not reflect true colors of the subject.
The camera is called Canon S400 in US and is also called IXUS 400 in some parts of the world.
The camera buyers have to be aware of the fact that it is not only the megapixels make the difference but also the lenses with different manufacturers and also the processor, the brain of the digital camera.
In canon's case its a DIGIC processor a unique to canon being used. Lenses are of top quality as Canon being a camera company of almost 50 yrs.
Also the camera has a technoligies built in like the ISAPS, which is a database in the processor which detetcts the best settings for the picture being taken, as in the database there is already some information specifies by canon over 50 yrs of their experience in the industry which will help you enormously while cliking pics in the Auto mode, when the camera does everything for u.
Also it has a very nice feature which i personally like , the sound memo, tht after clicking the picture i can add sound to remember the picture.
It also has a Audio-video output and thankfully comes along with the cables unlike some of the manufacturers. So come back after a holiday plug it in u r tele and watch the pics or the video like a slideshow.
Another top feature is a panaromic... One can stich up the pics if not been able to record in one frame.
And the software which comes along called photo stich helps u to stich all the pics on the comp. and print them put like a single picture.
Overall in cameras i will have to say Canon is No. 1 in qualuty, vaue of money, reliability. And for u r future needs canon is the only successful manufacturer which not only manufacturers the Digital cameras, camcorders buit also the printers as well. Where after buying any canon camera u can simply plug in the camera directly into the ptinter, the most economical in the ink ridges as well.
Pros: Weight, Apperiance
Cons: Auto-Focus, Red-Eye Reduction
I got this camera for my b-day never thinking that I was always bragging for a digital camera my friend bought it for me. It has been my first digital camera and it is easy for me to handle. I e-mail pic to my family and friends and they love the quality when they print them out from home. I think this is a keeper. The only thing I do not like is that their is red-eye reduction but it hardly works when i print out a pic however photoshop will do it.
I love the slyle and color.
