    Pros: Excellent image quality at ISO80. Manual Capability, Hot Shoe for external flash.

    Cons: Image quality falls off quickly above ISO80

    Overall I think this is a really nice camera for a point and shoot. I usually carry a 5D with a battery grip, but that gets heavy. So I went out looking for a nice point and shoot to take its place during the day. I decided on the G10 because of the ...solid build and features. This camera is as close to a DSLR that you are going to find in a point and shoot.Impressions: I was immediately impressed with the image quality at ISO80. The colors are strong, the image is sharp, and contrast is excellent. I shoot RAW only so you can really make the colors pop in Digital Photo Professional. From there I save as a TIFF and play with them futher in Camera RAW ad achieve excellent results. The problem with this camera comes in when you start to increase the ISO, and it falls off quickly. Anything above ISO400 is pretty much unusable unless you are looking for creative grainy B&W's. I don't want to scare people off of this camera, I just think you should know what you are going to get for $499. For most families this camera will be fine. You can pretty much stay at ISO80 for just about all situations if you combine it with a decent speedlight (such as the 430EX or even the 580EX). Under these guidelines you will absolutely love the G10. Read more Less

    Pros: All you ever wanted from a digital camera!

    Cons: The only disadvantage is the image quality that is poor above ISO 200!

    Cons: poor optical zoom (5x), image quality in low light conditions

    Really nice camera with a lot of features . Using it outdoors I have excellent results as using my DSLR (eos 450d)! The continuous shooting mode is very slow (1.2 fps) and if you use it you have to select it every time you put the camera on. Overall ...it's a nice camera but for 400 euros it's still expensive.     Pros: Image Quality is great in ISO 80-1600 for me.

    Cons: The RAW image is very poor when trying to edit in photoshop.

    Pros: LCD review, color, image size, battery, weight

    Cons: Limited telephoto, off/on switch

    I was attracted to the retro feel of the G10 but once I had it in my hands, I began to respect it for its wide range of abilities. I carry it more than my Canon Digital Rebel cameras due to weight and size. I have gone for five mile walks, car shows,... farm shows, tractor shows, and never once been bothered by the weight which is light. Also, this is the best rechargeable battery I have in any Canon cameras. The LCD view screen is large and offers brilliant color so I have an excellent view of photos I have shot. I feel the range of the telephoto is limited and I don't like the small off/on button. I added a Canon SX10 IS camera to my inventory to increase the telephoto but not everyone wants to have more than one camera. The G10 is so good that has become my most used camera since it is so easy to carry. I carry a camera with me almost 90% of the time since I never know when an opportunity will present itself and I don't like to have to go back out to the car to get my camera. Yes, people make fun of me but they also look at my work. Read more Less

    Pros: Fast, Multifunctional Great back up camera.

    Cons: bigger then a typical point and shoot

    Multifunctional camera that I use all the time. I am a semi pro photographer and this camera is a camera that can do all my other cameras do.

    Pros: Amazing image quality!

    Cons: Over 15x images are hard to take without a tripod

    This is the best camera ever! I will use it for a long time, os it will be worth the price.

    Good for the semi-pro

    Pros: Nice size and weight.

    Cons: Dial can be touchy when changing settings

    Overall this camera has increased my ratio of good to bad photos. Love the size as it's not to big or to small and love the control that I can have when it comes to exposure and other settings. My only issue is that when changing settings the dia...l can be annoying sometimes, you try to push the button and change the shutter speed or aperture. For the semi-pro though this is a good little camera and gives you opportunities to try out a few different things than just a simple point and shoot. Read more Less

    Great results with minimal knowledge

    Pros: My sucessful photo ratio had sky rocketed

    Cons: Always trade offs. There are smaller and then there are more complicated

    I am NOT a photographer. This camera can really grab some images. I carry it with me all the time.
