Pros: Flip-out screen, partially-metal body, rugged
Cons: Minor design flaws
I have really enjoyed my Canon A95. I bought it in 2004 and have enjoyed it for the past four years. I do a lot of hiking in the backcountry and my camera has been through a lot with me. I've even dropped it a couple of times and it still functions just fine. The flip-out screen is wonderful for capturing photos at odd angles, and in my case has come in handy several times for photographing rock art while holding the camera above my head. For the price, it was a good camera.
My only complaint is that, occasionally, it resets itself to the default settings--on a few occasions it has done this. Unbeknownst to me, the image quality changed from superfine to fine, and the video size was reduced to the factory settings. This caused me to capture low-quality video and photos when this happened, which, upon returning home, was quite a disappointment.
Overall, however, this camera is very good. At the time it was released, it had many advantages to Canon's previous generation of cameras. I replaced my PowerShot S10 with this A95, and I never regretted the decision.
Pros: Pic quality,Ease of use,Ai auto focus,Everything is great.
Cons: Hard to hold on to at parties because others will want to check it out.
I paid $330.00 for this cam last year when it first came out and it is alot better than other cams i have used.
Ai auto-focus:
-
This feature is great,it selects different places in the image to focus on to increase the pic quality.
Battery life:
-
As with all cams it eats batteries but i purchased the "Energizer 15 minute AA-AAA battery charger with four 2200 mAh batteries" (34.99 at bestbuy.com)and also purchased"Energizer 2500 mAh batteries ($9.99 for a 4-pack at bestbuy.com) the charger is great and charges fast and the reason for purchasing the 2500 mAh batteries is because they last A LONG TIME,at a 4 hour WWE event (WWE Unforgiven 05)they stayed charged the whole 4 hours even though i was snapping away like crazy.
Picture Quality:
-
Even though it was really dark in the arena and the pic quality was still amazing even with the lights flashing and there was NO blur even during aerial moves and bodyslams and no blur even when Matt Hardy knocked Edge off the side of the cage.
Flip out and rotating screen:
-
When people stood up infront of me at "Unforgiven" all I had to do was raise the camera and rotated the screen down and I was still able the see clearly and take pictures I would have missed if it were not for the screen.
Size:
-
The grip handle is shaped really nice and comfortably so you can shoot with one hand without worrying about dropping the camera.
Memory card:
-
The camera comes with a 32MB card (32 pics) but I purchased the 1.0 gig (800 large 2592x1944,1,200 medium 2048x1536 pictures) the card was 74.99 at bestbuy.com
Audio/Video out:
-
The camera comes with A/V cables that you attach to the camera and when you plug them into your T.V
Pros: 360 Rotation Screen, 5.0 Mpx, Can extend digital zoom upto 12x
Cons: Auto Snap Facility is bit difficult, High consumpsion of battery
Using it for past 1 year and never got a single % of complain regarding it. Can take pics in complete darkness.Due to many feature battery consumption is very high and you may not need all th 15 features of it.
Pros: camera
Cons: camera
hello ,i would be glad if method and the ways which i can buy this item is made known to me cuz i have much interest in knowing how payment can be made . i want to buy for most of my workers cuz im a tuorist director travelling from one country to other especially african states.
regards,
Pros: Good size - not too small.
Cons: A trifle heavy since it uses 4 batteries.
I love this camera. I bought it about a year ago and took it to Mexico for a month last summer. I was able to take shots on the auto mode that were sharp and detailed with vibrant colors.
The compact flash card can be reasonably purchased from eBay and the batteries and chargers are also relatively inexpensive.
It is great for traveling out of the country. If you are in Europe and cannot re-charge your AAs with a plug-in charger, you can always buy alkaline batteries.
Pros: Photo and Video camera in one
Cons: Uses AA batteries
I absolutely recommend this camera to anyone specially first time digital camera buyers. I love it because I can take pictures which are excellent in quality. I also like the fact that I can take short videos with this same camera! It's very user friendly, esay menus, etc. If I lost this one or if it broke I would absolutely buy the same again. And the best thing the price is ok. Now there's only one thing I don't like and that's the fact that it requires AA batteries. I take alot of indoor pictures which means I use the flash alot which drains batteries faster. The solution is to get a battery charger, but I haven't quite had the time to get around it. So this is my experience with this camera, I'm very happy I bought it.
