Pros: None
Cons: Manufacturers defect with the lens
Cannon Powershot cameras have a serious manufacturers defect that Cannon refuses to assist users with. I advise any customer shopping for Cannon cameras to google this phrase "cannon cameras, lens error, restart camera" and you will see the THOUSANDS of Cannon camera owners that have had problems with the lens failing on Cannon cameras. If your camera is beyond the 1 year warranty, it will cost you more than $150 to get your camera fixed. If you paid $225 for the camera, then its not even worth getting it repaired. I have had this problem and fortunately I was able to fix the camera on my own. The problem is that Cannon PowerShot cameras have some sort of issue that dirt and dust easily penetrates the lens housing and prevents the lens from retracting. When this happens, the Cannon manual says thay you have to get the camera repaired by an authorized repair service and then you are slammed with the expensive bill. Like I said before, just do a quick web search for Cannon cameras and lense errors and you will be amazed of the numerous Cannon camera owners that got screwed by purchasing a Cannon camera product. At one point there was a law firm in California that was going to pursue a class action lawsuit against Cannon, however there was a lack of consumer feedback for them to pursue the lawsuit. Do yourself a favor, DO NOT buy a Cannon camera, go with a different brand and save yourself from a lot of needless aggrivation. Cannon cameras are Chinese made garbage.
Pros: Good image quality
Cons: Shutter lag can be frustrating when taking pictures of kids and pets
I got this camera a year ago and have taken 500-600 pictures with it. The performance is good and it still works good as new. I get less bad shots with this camera than the others I have used. The 4x zoom is nice and even works well with a bit of digital zoom. I do find that even zoomed all the way out I often have to step back a bit to get my photo framed well. Some of the drawbacks are mostly due to the battery life. The battery icon will come on after only about two dozen photos. At this time it's important to have a spare pair of AA's for it. It will continue to take many pictures before the replace battery message comes on and it won't function. Once the icon starts flashing I noticed the real good performance begins to go down. The flash becomes dimmer, and recycle time between shots is slower. Even the shutter lag becomes longer which is barely tolerable even with fresh batteries. These are the only imperfections I find and are easy to overlook on a camera in this price range. It has more functions than I find to be useful. You can adjust the ISO, but the 800 and 1600 settings are quite grainy. Really it takes great pictures on full auto. I find the software a little hard to install and learn, but quite sufficient. I don't like the movie mode, it is high resolution, but it only sets the exposure when the movie begins, and not during the film. That does not take away from the quality of the still pictures it takes. It seems to be a better camera than the kodak, nikon, and most others. I do like my brother-in-law's sony though. I think this camera has been obsoleted by canon's later models which show potential to be as good or better.
Pros: Quality
Cons: Ease of use
please i need canon power shotA560. I live in cairo in Egypt. I want to know how to transfer the money to your company. you can ship the item to Ghana Embassy Cairo--Egypt through this name. DAVID KWASI BOATENG alias I K.
Pros: Compact, has a viewfinder, long shutter settings, adjustable ISO.
Cons: Limited to it's features.
This camera is a great choice for a point-and-shoot. It has many adjustable features including ISO and exposure. This isn't the best choice for the more experienced photographer. It isn't adjustable in normal shutter speeds and it is generally of bad quality after 200 ISO being only 7.1 megapixels. But all in all, it is a great camera.
Pros: Excellent Camera, excellent features.
Cons: For me...pics are not as clear as I would like, and it dosen't leave the date stamp on the picture.
I really love this camera, I don't know if it is me or the camera, but I can't seem to get all my pictures very clear. That is why I am online now and how I found this site, trying to see what I am doing wrong or what I can learn.
The Online support is excellent for this camera. When I do take a clear picture, it is excellent.
My camera before this would let me leave the date on my picture so when I printed it out the date would be in the lower right corner, this camera won't let me do that. When I go to the menu for the date stamp option, it is blackened out in the list and it won't let me click on it. If anyone has any ideas on that let me know please.
Overall if I had to buy another camera, I would buy this one again. I am really really happy with it. I just wish I could turn the date stamp off or on.
Pros: Easy to operate and beautiful photos
Cons: Haven't found any yet
I love this camera, consider it one of my very best investments. Batteries last forever, my first set lasted six months and I take a lot of pics and review the photos on the screen often. I love how easy it is to hold and handle. The features are fantastic even though I am a digital camera newbie and still discovering how to use them all. Everyone I know who sees or uses my Cannon is impressed. I feel like I got a lot of camera for a VERY reasonable price and I shopped around before purchasing. I would recommend this camera to any and everyone!
Pros: Great Quality pictures, Long Battery life
Cons: shutter lag is the worst part
overall i think this camera is really good for what i need it to do it takes great quality pictures. i use it to take pictures of my architectural models in macro mode. i also take a lot of pictures of buildings which is really good. overall i really love this camera.
Pros: Easy to use for beginners, images come out with great color and brightness, it records good videos
Cons: Doesn't have a lot of options, is a bit slow when flash is off, is blurry when using special scenes w/o flash but NOTHINGS PERFECT!
I had wanted a digital camera for the longest time! After going on a trip to Paris it was obvious that I couldn't live w/o taking pics!
I finally got the Canon Powershot A560!!! I played around with it and found that it was pretty easy to use. I print my pictures at a nearby Target and they come out beautiful! The colors were great and the quality of the image was the best.
Some cons are that the camera is sort of slow without the flash and when the battery is close to dying it goes slow. When using the special features, the flash must be on and you have to be still to take a picture or else it comes out blurry.
I would say that it's quite durable. I have dropped it on concrete and all that happened was that it was scratched.
I recommend this product. It's great for beginners and amateur photographers.
IT' AWESOME!!!!!
Pros: Great Pics, Good Zoom.
Cons: Sensitive to Movement.
This was a great product for me...it really works, and is a pretty good price. I have taken many pics with it and everyone seems to stay satisfied. It has a great 7.1 megapixels.
Pros: Good Camera, till the LCD goes out
Cons: LCD goes out and no way to get it fixed
I bought a Canon digital camera about 2 1/2 yrs ago. It was a great camera to use. Although the LCD went out on it and I went to the canon website to see about getting it fixed and by this time it is not manufactured anymore. So I had to go and buy a brand new camera. I don't know if it was the age of the camera or what. I didn't think that after having it over 2 yrs that it would break down so soon. I figured that if it is very well taken care of and properly handled, then nothing would happen to it. I wouldn't recommend this if this is going to happen to all their cameras.
