    Pros: 8 frames per sec., high ISO performance

    Cons: 8 mp. would like 12 mp.

    Being a wildlife photographer the 1Dmk2 is the best camera I have ever owned.I use it every day taking 100 images.The camera never fails to do what I need from it. I am out in all kinds of weather rain, snow and temps. from -20 to 108 it always works.... Sure its big and heavy thats what it needs to be for my work.     Pros: Price, pro body, speed

    Cons: hmmmm....

    Love the camera, 8+ frames a second! Incredible! Amazing write speed, fantastic image quality, and a huge 2.5" screen to review your photos. I opted for this camera OVER a 5D because of its pro body (metal, not plastic) speed, and design. Althou...gh the image sensor is NOT full frame, the 1.3x crop factor doesnt bother me as much as a 30D or digital rebel's 1.6x crop. Solid, rugged performer? The Canon EOS 1D Mark II N!     Pros: Firewire AND USB allmost full frame FAST shutter ..

    Cons: not a self cleening sensor

    I wanted to upgrade to a better cam from My 40D so I picked the 1Dmk2 ...8MP was /Is plenty of Res and I wanted a fuller frame sensor .. I wanted a super fast cam for motor sports and did not need the MK3s 10MP .2 more MP was not worth the huge price... jump..(I got My 1D for $1200 with 10K on the shutter( barley broken in !) I do Miss the Live preview ! from My 40D.but having SD and CF card slots a APS-H sensor with amazing ISO performance is why I got it NOW there Is a Issue with low light focusing .. it Hunts . and locks on very slowly on low contrast subjecs but once it does lock on the photos are amazing ... and BTW after the Firmwear up grade it got quiet a bit better .. I also Liked having Firewire on it as at the time My Older mac only had USB 1.1 and FW 400 so having the FW was super sweet and still is with My new computer .. I put a EyeFi card In the SD slot to make it possable to send Pics to the computer with WiFi just like the the $700 WFT thingy .. but I can still shoot to the CF slot too! My only gripe is the lack of self cleening on the sensor but knowing the vintage of the cam this is not supprizing .I intend on keeping it for a long time Read more Less
