    Pro that borrowed one

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 25, 2008 | 2 out of 4 found this Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT Kit - Silver review helpful

    Pros: great ameture photographer

    Cons: pros don't bother using

This camera I borrowed to shoot a party.
for a pro I wouldn't recomend it startup and shutterlag is sooooo long. I know I am spoiled with canons pro models. GREAT for the point&shoot ameture very easy to use. don't bother with the 18-55 lens get a 28-135 a better ameture choice
    Happy shooting.

Wonderful Camera for any Beginner or Amateur

    By Elizabeth  Aug 25, 2008

Pros: Value! Inexpensive and takes stunning photos!

Cons: The body plastic gets dirty very easily and screen is very small.

This is a great beginner camera for any photographer or lightweight second camera body for more experienced users. I've had mine for about a year now, and with the addition of a few high quality lenses, this camera has rarely disappointed me. The camera body is lightweight and small (good for small hands). If you have larger hands, then I would recommend the battery grip to go with this camera which will double your battery life. This camera is best used for portraits, daytime outdoor photography, and still photography. I have had some issues using this camera under low light conditions as well as for high action (like flying birds) photos and would not recommend it for either use except when tripod mounted. The digital screen is very small, unfortunately. Sometimes it is very difficult to see the photo in the review screen. The XTi has a much larger screen and a few more features for a bit more money if this is also a concern for you. If not, then definitely invest in this less expensive and still absolutely great camera! Overall, I give this camera a 4.8/5 and highly recommend it!

    Happy so far.

    By donna  Jul 15, 2008

    Pros: Price

    Cons: Kit lens soft focus

This is my first DSLR. The kit lens is a bit of a sift focus but the image sharpens easily in editing software. It takes amazing shots with my Sigma lens.

A review I read said the con was having to look thru the view finder to take a picture. It's a DSLR. That's the way they are made. ....All of them.
Anyway, for the price, it's a good camera but I bought my son a Nikon D40 at the same time and wish he trade me.
    I'm just sayin.
