Pros: One of those albums that reverberates through your head
Cons: Don't get the songs out of sequence when your burning your CDs
27 years later and I still get the same kick when I hear this album. I HAVE to hear it in its entirety. SEQUENTIALLY..never just a song here or there.

Candy-o followed one of the best debut albulms ever-a tough act. And although I don't rate this as high as The Cars (5+), it's still a five star. It starts with three pop songs (Let's Go, Since I Held You, It's All...). Then it's gets even better. I love Double Life! Songs 9-11 is a great Cars sequence. They were so good at stringing songs together. Ben Orr sounds great on It's All I can Do and You Can't Hold On Too Long-sad to hear about his death. Ric Ocasek has the music gift-for sure-but, like all great bands, everyone is good. Elliot Easton is a great (left-handed!) guitarist, Greg Hawkes is obviously musically knowledgeable but also very creative. Ben Orr had a good (and mostly dominant) sound. And David Robinson was a great drummer. This almbum is frantic and fast yet had a great sound and perfect timing. Very addicting CD-you can listen to it over and over.

Has just a couple of great songs like Let's Go and It's All I Can Spew (I mean Do), but why in the world did they stick Shoo Be Doo on there? It's an annoying song, but its still in my head!

Contains much of the power that the first release had. The outstanding cuts are the opener "Let's Go", "It's All I Can Do", the title track, "Got A Lot On My Head" & the closer "Dangerous Type". Like the first, Easton's guitar soars and Ocasek & Orr deliver great vocals. The only flaw on this collection is the out of place synth farce "Shoo Be Doo". Other than that this is a fine collection of songs.
