One of many duos quick to jump on the industrial music bandwagon made temporarily ultrahip in the early '90s by the highly successful Ministry, Pat McCahan and Kipp Johnson formed Candiru in Harrisburg, PA. However, unlike Ministry, Candiru (aptly named after a South American "vampire" catfish known to infiltrate and feed off an unsuspecting host's urethra) substituted layered guitar overkill for more widespread use of samples and programmed beats.
