Not a day could go by without just thinking or saying ‘I hope that Wil...sons Phillp get back together’. Because they encapuslated the whole idea of growing up - not just in California, or in a famous household, but anywhere! And now they have taken a new look and sound and added maturity and theyre trademarks sound of harmonic singing, great voices, beautiful melodies and lyrics that speak (sing) directly from the heart. “CALIFORNIA” speaks to all generations from all times and areas.     Finally Back

    Cons: Should have added more "California" type songs

    I was just browsing through the electronic section at my local K-mart store, when I stumbled upon this cd. It was not in the new release section. It was just sitting there like it was out for years. I have always been a fan of Wilson Philips, so I de...cided to take a look at it. Now, I should have known that the girls were coming out with a new cd, but I lost track of them as the years went by. I knew about Carnie's weightloss, but that is just about it. I took a look at the song list and knew I had to buy it right then and there. I immediatly bought the cd and popped it in my cd player in my car. I was pretty much in awe as I was listening to their renditions of the most influential songs of the 20th Century. My favorite song so far on the cd is "Go Your Own Way". The song will give you chills. I would suggest anyone get this cd if you are looking for a fresh sound. Read more Less

    Pros: Nice the girls can sing!!

    Cons: They ruined some great oldies!!

    If they are going to remakes them they should stick to their parents' stuff, not Jackson Browne or Linda Ronstadt!! It's ok, it's cute, but no substance.

    At long last

    I've been waiting for this album and although I've been disappointed by some choices ,the overall picture is good. You're no good and Turn, Turn, Turn are my favorites , but the two Brian Wison songs are great too. The girls really like t...o sing in harmony and it shows. They are clearly better when they sing together. Their "solos" are less poignant.The choice made by the producer for Monday Monday is ...let's be polite ...:WRONG. Nevertheless it is a great album. It is musical to say the least and very enjoyable. Girls, do not make us wait for another twelve years, please! Read more Less

    Pros: Great Voices and Soothing Music

    Cons: Short Album, Not Enough Songs

    Wilson Phillips is a great band. They have depth and range and are not a teeny-bop outfit with no talent. They truly know how to put together a mature album. Some of these remakes will be a little unfamiliar to the twenties crowd, but, on the flipsid...e, they will sound interesting and fresh. The familiar tunes, such as "You're No Good" and "Go Your Own Way" are right on...and not overdone. Anyone who is close to 30 and remembers Wilson Phillips in their "heyday" needs to purchase this album. Read more Less
