  • All Music Guide

Lulu Santos is a pop artist, immersed in the dance music universe. Retaking the successful partnership with Liminha (partnership which produced the hits "Adivinha o quê," "Um certo alguém" e "Como uma onda" in O ritmo do momento, 1983), he throws new songs following predictable hit formulas in "Nau dos Insensatos," "Fogo de Palha," "Aquilo" and "Mala Cia." Firing in all directions, he attacks the retrosamba "Brasil legal," strongly paraphrasing Ary Barroso's "A baixa do sapateiro" under surf guitars. His partner Nelson Motta's lyrics continue dealing with the restricted universe of a golden adolescent in a Carioca beach, looking for the next Saturday night ("Sábado à noite").
