Caldwell Bracey

Caldwell Bracey
Caldwell Bracey (the surname is sometimes listed as Bracy) recorded four blues sides for OKeh Records (including the crisp "You Scolded Me and Drove Me from Your Door" and the emotionally nuanced "I'll Overcome Someday") at the King Edwards Hotel in Jackson, MS, on December 17, 1930, under the name Mississippi Bracey. He also recorded four hymns under the name Caldwell Bracey Wife that same day, but only the four blues pieces were ever issued by OKeh.
