Cadence (1991)

This was and continues to be a classic film in every sense of the word. This was Martin and Charlie Sheens first project together, and a fine one at that. Laurence Fishburne turns in a keyed down role with great undertones to his character, as the Le...ader of small group of Black Military prisoners (circa 1968-70's). I have waited for years for this movie to come out on DVD Just to get the music, let alone the movie itself. I was very startled to see such a negative review by someone, that it motivated me to write one from my perspective. The symbolism, the attempted father son relationship, and finally C. Sheens release of grief at the end of this film, make for a powerful viewing experience. You may wish to buy the movie after seeing it, but either way don't miss seeing it. Guys will relate to the father/son relationship and it's difficulties, and my wife was moved to tears. This movie does not rise to the heighths of films like the "Shawshank Redemption", but it is nevertheless a very good movie. Read more Less
