Although Jack Hartounian (Jackie Mason) has made a fortune as a contractor, he must put up a fight so he and his daughter, Kate, can join the exclusive Bushwood Country Club. More than anything, Kate longs to be accepted by the club's rich members, who include her college roommate, Miffy. However, Miffy's parents, Chandler and Cynthia Young, mount a tough campaign to make sure the Hartounians stay out of their beloved club -- and they succeed. To get revenge, Jack buys the majority of Bushwood's stock and transforms the club into an extravagant park open to all. But the club's members still refuse to leave. Eventually, the confrontation can only be solved with a new money versus old money battle on the links.

    An Unnecessary In-Name Sequel

    The one question any viewer should ask oneself when watching "Caddyshack 2" is "Why? Why? Why?" Talent is squandered all-around. Jackie Mason, a great stand-up comic, tries to be Rodney Dangerfield, but can't. Chevy Chase, who was sexy and funny a...s Ty Webb in the original, should have said no to this so-called sequel, as did his fellow costars, Dangerfield and Bill Murray, also from the original. Dan Aykroyd proves to be an even worse greenkeeper shooting gophers than "SNL" cohort Murray, the better of the greenkeepers. Murray's funny voice was actually funny, Aykroyd's voice sounds just stupid here. Then there are more serious actors such as Dyan Cannon, Robert Stack, and Dina Merrill to name a few, who gave no thought to making this lamebrainer and just asking for fast paychecks.     Jackie Mason was an absolute gem in this movie, it's a shame he didn't switch from standup comedy to comic acting more often.
