    Terrible Product

    By K  Nov 21, 2009

    Pros: Works at First

    Cons: Quits after awhile

    To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to warn those who would purchase products made by Coby. Their lack of concern for the customer is astounding. When I first looked into getting one of their DVD players I did my research. I looked at various websites and found only good comments. So, I purchased Coby’s multi-region DVD player and it worked perfectly for the first two weeks. Then, all of sudden it began skipping on one of my DVDs. I wrote them an email about this and asked if there was a way to fix this problem. I even stated that if they could not fix it I would want it replaced. They never wrote me back. I decided to let the matter drop since it did not skip on every one of my DVDS. Three months later my DVD player stopped working completely. Now, whenever I put a DVD in it will load for about twenty minutes and then say invalid disc. So, I wrote to them again several times demanding for a replacement. They never wrote me back. I even left a comment on their website. So, I decided that I will simple go to every website concerning Coby products and leave this comment. By doing so, I hope to prevent someone else from making the same mistake I did. On one last note, I will leave you with this final sentence. Do not purchase a Coby product because it will be waste of money.
    Sincerely,
    An Annoyed Customer

    I like this!

By SuzanneM  Aug 1, 2009 | 0 out of 1 found this COBY MP-C7095 review helpful

Pros: I can listen to music

Cons: A little bit difficult to figure out

I like this! I actually got this as a free gift from my bank card rewards program. My ipod broke a while ago and I really missed it, but just couldnt afford a new one right now. I figured this wasnt costing me a cent, so I would give it a try, not really expecting too much. But you know what? I like this!!! It works well. I can listen to my music again! It took a few minuites to figure out how to transfer my mp3 files, because I was used to itunes, but I did figure it out and now its just great! If you want an mp3 player, but on a limited budget, then go for it!

    Bad product

By pandey  May 19, 2009 | 2 out of 3 found this COBY MP-C7095 review helpful

    Pros: sleek

Cons: bad support, doesn't solve intended purpose, low battery life

I got my MP3 player around 6 months back (model- MP-C7095) and used it only for 3 months. First it works only for 2hrs and design is really irritating and software is messed up. For a month it worked fine, but next month the head phones stopped working so I got a new one. After that it used to stop all of a sudden. Third month it died completely. It no longer works. After calling their customer support (which is useless) they said the battery life must have ended and they can't take the responsibility since they buy that from China (how stupid does it sound???) and since it's not under warranty (its only 90 days), I can pay $30 and get a new one. I don't want to pay another $30 as there is no guarantee that this thing will work for more than 3 months. I won't recommend this product at all. It's cheap but you can pay a little extra and enjoy a good MP3 player.

this thing is horribleeee. i got it last christmas, and it was good then. for like 5 days maybe. then i thought the head phones broke, so i bought a new pair, but its the mp3 player. like my head phones have to be in a certain position to hear clearly. like the other person said, i cant transfer playlists. i mean if you wanna waist your cash, be my i guest, but i wouldt buy this thing twice in a lifetime let along once if i had read a review first.

What a horrendous piece of JUNK!

    By Eric  May 26, 2008

Pros: Nothing that I can think of!

    Cons: Just about everything!

This is a confusing piece of technology to maneuver. Even after reading the manual first, it takes several hours/days of fiddling around with to finally get the hang of it.

The biggest issue I have with this player is that it apparently cannot handle playlists. An MP3 player that won't allow playlists?? I have tried several times to transfer my playlists from Windows Media. The individual tracks transfer over, but not the playlists.

I made sure everything was set up correctly, then called Coby customer support. I was told that some of their MP3 players don't support playlists. This, despite that the manual explains how to create and transfer playlists from Windows Media!

This is a crappy, useless, confusing little machine. Consider yourself warned and plan to spend your hard-earned dollars on a better, more functional MP3 player!

    Pros: easy to figure out

Cons: conversion for video don't work on a mac

I bought 4 at a great price for a 2 gb, great for beginners just starting out, holds lots of songs and pictures turned out great, bad thing is in order to convert an avi or any movie file you have to have windows operating system,

Once i figure out how to convert from a mac i am sure it will be just as good.

overall i like it very much and the price was just right for my pocketbook....

    Decent Little Player

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Sep 1, 2007 | 6 out of 7 found this COBY MP-C7095 review helpful

    Pros: Small and portable

Cons: No real support / Video weak

I bought this a month ago thinking that my kids (10 and 11) may enjoy it for the long car rides (NPR is so boring to them, an actual quote). I actually got two of them. Low to mid priced I also figured I wouldn't be out of much money if they hated them plus the packaging said video support. Albeit I wasn't expecting an Ipod BUT if you say video support atleast make the software more intuitive and conversions better. For video playback is grainy and a bit below an "okay" standard.

Music playback is fair although the equalizer is a must for almost any music and must be adjusted for invididual types of music if using the ear buds given in the packaging. The ear buds given are fair as well, they replicate highs and lows at a mid to high level of volume but if you are looking to blow your ear drums away the highest sound volume sounds distorted and crappy. You can always buy another set of ear buds which dramatically improves sound quality. It faithfully plays the file types listed on the packaging so no worries about that.

The most annoying part at first is the touch based navigation. Through the years I have used everything from a Rex 6000 (50 points for those who know what this little device is) to a Palm to a IPod. The navigation is NOT intuitive. What you may think is a direct path to one function or another is not. After a couple of days this is easily learned but when trying to play with them at first its a bugger. My kids didn't like the touch based because it has no tactile feel, to me no big deal but a valid concern for those who need a felt response to know if they pushed the button or not.

When trying to learn the device there was hardly any support except a small manual. Software disc didn't contain any in depth instructions that I had been accustomed to having in electronic devices. It was hard to find the website for other support as well. To me this is the worst part of the device as one may try to do video conversions but has no idea what the limits are or may want to learn more about the directory structure but again has to learn through trial and error.

I will say that after three weeks the kids abandoned the devices, maybe it was because the novelty wore off (as so often happens) or their hard time with using it. My wife and I instead adopted both of them after the kids left them laying in the garage. We use them for our walking and workouts and they work just fine. Sure you can buy the little arm band ones but when you have pockets or a stand on a tredmill for water and listening devices it really doesn't matter (to us). In the car use is fair at best because after a couple of hours of sitting in the hot sun the battery drains rather fast. Sound replication in the car is fine though, as with any MP3 device hooked to a stereo system you have to adjust the two for optimum sound.

The final complaint is that you have to recharge it from a computer as it comes without any wall socket to recharge and trying to work around this (by plugging into a powered USB dock station or video game system) doesn't work. No big deal for those who have computers lying around the house but when the only computer is upstairs in a cluttered office it can be a drag.

omg the crappiest thing u will ever find do not and i repeat DO NOT buy this. it is a complete waste of your money. first of all the video conversion is bad and very complicated, the pics are fuzzy, and whenever u change a song it takes forever to go to the next song. the sad thing is i bought the product less then two days ago and im dissappointed, im returning it to the store this week. do yourselves a favour and dont buy this you will be very disappointed.
