To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to warn those who would purchase products made by Coby. Their lack of concern for the customer is astounding. When I first looked into getting one of their DVD players I did my research. I looked at various websites and found only good comments. So, I purchased Cobyâs multi-region DVD player and it worked perfectly for the first two weeks. Then, all of sudden it began skipping on one of my DVDs. I wrote them an email about this and asked if there was a way to fix this problem. I even stated that if they could not fix it I would want it replaced. They never wrote me back. I decided to let the matter drop since it did not skip on every one of my DVDS. Three months later my DVD player stopped working completely. Now, whenever I put a DVD in it will load for about twenty minutes and then say invalid disc. So, I wrote to them again several times demanding for a replacement. They never wrote me back. I even left a comment on their website. So, I decided that I will simple go to every website concerning Coby products and leave this comment. By doing so, I hope to prevent someone else from making the same mistake I did. On one last note, I will leave you with this final sentence. Do not purchase a Coby product because it will be waste of money.

The five-star review below was obviously submitted by someone either paid or working for Coby. This player is the worst peice of technology I have ever wasted money on. The conversion software is a complete joke, horrible interface right out of 1997, never even converted the file. The documentation is so poorly written and provides very little help at all. Coby is a horrible company with shitty tech support. Do yourself a favor and avoid any products by Coby.

I bought it for my daughter 2 months before christmas and it broke 2 days after christmas she was heart broken I tried to take it bake to the store and they said it had been to long from the time I bought it they gave me the 1800 number but when I called the number was not in service for the warranty

Cons: Terrible: menu interface, EQ, sound quality, video quality. Pain to have to convert video files. Attracts fingerprints.
Never in my life would I purchase one of these. I was helping a friend with one she just bought and it's a pain to use.
In order to play movies/videos, the files MUST be converted to MTV format. The program says it will convert avi, mpg, etc. files, however, out of the 20 avi's I needed to convert, only one "fit the standard". Out of the 16 or so "movie files" I had, only 2 were converted. And the quality was very poor. No matter which function & quality I converted the files too, the screen skipped. Would eventually give you a seizure.
My next beef is the filthiness of the unit. Shows every finger print, the screen gets smeared in oils from your hands VERY easily, and I was constantly wiping it. The touchpads are not the easiest to use, and was constantly tapping the menu button to "attempt" to get back to the main menu. It was easier to shut the darn thing off and start it up again.
"Help" files are a disgrace, especially the help for the MTV converter. It merely shows a jpeg of the program and just a few lines describing it. How is this a help file? No description about the different quality & sound levels, what files can and cannot be converted, or why a standard avi file is deemed "invalid" when avi is a supported file for conversion.
My own personal MP3 player is far superior, does NOT show fingerprints, menus are VERY easy to access and transferring files is a breeze compared to this unit. This belongs in the garage.Was this review helpful? Yes - Nonever again will I buy this product

Pros: Very slim, supports many formats, comes with: (Headphones,chrge cord, transfer cord, and conversion disk), rechargable, price, all of the features it has.
Cons: Not a "True gig" it's actual storage is 965 Megs. Still good though.
When I bought this product I didn't know it came with so many features.
I can watch movies on it, listen and record the raido, I can record speech, read an E-Book, listen to music, and look at my pictures. Not only that but the quality is amazing, it picks up the radio signal with crystal clarity, the movis may be small scale (since they are on a small screen) but the quality is perfect. When you record speech it picks up most sounds at a good length away and is very easy to understand.
Not only that but you can store more than you think on them. I got 2 1 hour movies on mine with 150 songs as well. Not to mention the battery life is amazing.
Overall this product brings you alot of bang for your buck and I believe it was a very good purchase.Was this review helpful? Yes - NoDear friends
