    If you ever wanter to hear some great music with kick ass MEANINGFUL lyrics, this would be the one. For anyone that rated this cd and called it anything but great is a complete DUMB ASS!!!!!!!!!!! The one that said that the lyrics are meaningless i...snt worthy enough to listen to The Burdens Of Being Upright!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Obviously you'er too stupid and slow to understand anything that Tracy Bonham is expressing within her music. Why don't you go back to your tini bopin boy bands and immature girl simgers like Britney Spears. Anyway moving on my cousin introduced me to this cd and from the second i heard Mother, Mother I knew this was a great album. I couldn't wait to hear the rest of the cd and just as i suspected each song was just as good. So listen to me and listen to Tracy Bonham. Read more Less

    I drove with a friend all the way from PA to CA and this was the top pick for our music choices. I have had the album since 97 and still listen to it on a weekly basis. It rocks!!!!! Many good memories related to the whole album.

    Here's the flaws...

    Hey its a good album but not great. Some songs seem unfinished or something and the lyrics are pretty boring and almost meaningless. "You're the one, the one who froze the sun,"??? c'mon, I could've thought of something better Tracy! And the lyrics t...o Sharks Can't Sleep make me wanna cry they're so bad! Anyways some tracks are pretty cool but alot of them have really great parts to them but then take a drastic turn for the worse. The Real is a terrific track except for the first and last 30 secs. Anyways its a good album but not great.If you don't care about that sort of stuff then go buy the album cause I'm sure you'll like it. Read more Less

    This album is so solid. The lyrics are deep, the vocals are amazing, and 'The Burdens of Being Upright' is hard-core proof that women can rock just as hard (if not harder) then men.

    Just awesome. Her style is so strong, almost captivating. Good guitar work, harmonies and original melodies. Incredible poetry. Give it a try, I'm certain you'll enjoy it.

    In this release I believe any alternative listener would be pleased. Tracy Bonham delivers one of the best alternative albums of the year with some very catchy beats and an extremely well written album. This album hits with track 1 (Mother, Mother) ...and just hypnotizes you into Tracy world on it's way to track 12. Anyone who has not given this album a listen is sorely missing out on a great one.
