For all their ballsiness and fire, the Ann Arborbased indie rock group Bulletproof started out quietly enough. Lead singer Cammila Albertson, bassist Ryan Hyde, and guitarist David Widmayer initially began working together as a moody, melodic band called Out of the Water. The group recorded one EP, 2003's Fist for a Shell, before disbanding in 2004 when Hyde moved to Minneapolis for the year.
