During the early '90s young dancehall deejay Buju Banton exemplified almost everything that many critics hated about ragga music. With harsh, sexually explicit lyrics, he seemed to encourage nihilism and violence. Still, by 1992, when he was only 19, Banton was one of Jamaica's biggest dancehall acts with several chart toppers that included such singles as "Bogle," and "Love Me Browning/Love Black Woman."
