Pros: Seamlessly added to my home network
Cons: Incorrectly labled box
I have several PCs at home (2-3 laptops at various times and 1-2 desktops). These are all networked together either wired or wirelessly. I wanted a way to have common storage for all of these PCs without needing to leave a computer running all the time. The LS-500 provided exactly that. I had it up and running on the network in less than an hour. It has been working without problem for over 6 months now. Always on, mapped as the "L:" drive on all my PCs so everyone knows where to store shared files. I only have two complaints. First, the box stated that one of the features was the ability to schedule recurring downtime for certain hours of the day (save power and wear on the drive). I called support about this and they simply said this drive does not have that feature. Second, if I have a power outage the drive shuts itself off (good) and does not come back on after the power is stable (not so good). That is really a minor issue for me and I really wouldn't expect more for a device in this price range. Overall a great device and highly recommended.
