Exellent film, well written story of love for hip-hop that can be substituted for any passionate love for something. The film can be compared to rapper Common Sense's '94 classic song 'I Used to Love H.E.R'. Acting was very good and anyone that really loves music will enjoy this film.

brown sugar goes down as one of my favorite black movies. Its funny, sexy, and slick with a fresh, youthful cast such as Taye Diggs, Sanaa Lathan, Mos Def, and Queen Latifah. The movie can be described as a Love Jones type with a twist of hip hop. Just an overall good African American romantic comedy/drama. If you loved The Best Man, Love and Basketball, or Love Jones, youll die loving Brown Sugar. Get a taste of black love!!!

I was pleasantly surprised by the film. It is a realistic "slice of life" that delivered a true depiction of the many facets and influences of the Hip-Hop culture born in the Metro NY area that spread across the world. Quality performances, accurate music history, realistic industry issues, depictions of love and career decisions. Directing, scene selection, narration by characters made me recollect a fun ground-breaking period in Hip-Hop music and its culture. Big Up! to Brown Sugar...great cast.

sanaa i think that u are so pretty and you should keep up the good work. you are a very good actress and i think that it would be a good idea if you and denzel made a movie together. tay i love you are so sexy, you have the most beautiful and clean looking skin complexion i have ever seen. well i just wanted you gyus to know that brown sugar is one of my favorite movies.

The sweetest thing starring cameron diaz, christina applegate and selma blair, did a good job on looking at three women's take on love and relationships. It was good cuz it carried everyone along with the dialogue and music. This film is highly recommended for everyone and girls who wanna have fun.
