    Pros: a beautiful, tragic, romance

    Cons: a little slow moveing especially early on

    When you go into a movie this hyped it's hard to know what to expect but all the fanfare aside I think it was a really beautiful tragic love story. I do have problems with how very slow moving it was especially in the beginning but it did eventua...lly pick up the pace a bit. The scenery was beautiful and the acting was wonderful, just like we would expect from the well known cast. Lets not forget either that the sex scenes were well done and to be honest kinda hot! I admit I also enjoyed the very fact that it was a beautiful, romantic, emotional, gay romance because in truth there really aren't enough movies bringing these into the mainstream and movies like this could do a lot to normalize and destigmatize gay romance for society in general. It was a strong story about love and about fear. It is definitely worth the watch, it's a beautiful love story that will likely become a classic. Read more Less

    Pros: Great views,good acting,good mix of everything

    Cons: the hero does not take revenge in the end

    Iam straight i have fallen in love many times but this is the first time i truely understood what the heart yearns for and your mind tells you to do. One of the things that people forget about "gay people"is they also fall in love just like... the rest of us.They kiss like us,laugh, make jokes,they live thier life to the fullest. I like learning about new places,cultures,food habits and most of all people.I felt like i knew these people and i wanted to know them forever and i will. Read more Less

    Pros: Very thought provoking & sensitive

    Cons: Could have used a different ending

    Usually I wait until even the new movies are out on DVD to watch; however, there was so much hype about this movie that I had to see it at the theater. The love story was second to none. One of the best in this particular genre. I love watching gay t...hemed movies with good movie value but found this to be in a class of its own. And too, perhaps I like to think things will always turn out happily ever after and hoped this movie would be one of those situations, but, sadly it did not. I hope the film industry will seek out more movies of this magnitude. Read more Less

    Pros: Brilliant Performances

    Cons: Sad ending/Tear jerker

    Heath Ledger plays the central character to a "T". Without him there would be no point to the film; beautifully fleshed out by the screen writers. Currently there are many groups politicizing gay marriages; unfortunately they have not one F...ACT to degrade, demean, or deter gay people. Communists in the 30's and 40's, blacks in the 50's and 60's, and now gays. Politicos frighten the ignorant by demonizing various minorities to retain power while Facts are ignored. The film does NOT glorify infidelity, but exposes oppression; it does NOT force unwitting people to watch gay sex, but puts you in another skin. You can't help feeling the loss of love and hoping for your own love to be as strong. Read more Less

    Pros: Good plot, good subplots, surprise ending

    Cons: Depends on the person I would think

    I enjoyed the movie. I was told by a friend that there were love scenes in case I was worried. But I admit the love scenes were more revealing than I thought. Which was interesting, it is new ground like someone else said. I think it is a wonderful a...nd very original movie. Obviously, homophobic people exist and they will certainly have a problem with the movie, which makes me wonder why they even watched it. I thought it was a moving love story that not only could the gay community be proud of and enjoy but straight women as well. Some men may be okay watching the movie, unfortunately, I've never met a man who was comfortable gay men, lol. Good movie! Read more Less

    Pros: Original!!!

    Cons: Got a real shock...

    This movie has a very original story line. However it is not one for those with weak guts. I was unaware that it was the the cowboys that were romantically involved. However once you get past that, it is a very romantic story. A bit too graphic in so...me parts for my taste. And not one I would let my children watch. However I'd say as far as overall story line goes, very good. And the scenery is awesome. Read more Less

    I love the movie, it was so hyped up I couldn't resisit, it is a tragic and beautiful love story, a very brave and groundbreaking movie, I admire the guts everyone had to be involved in this project, if your homophobic avoid this movie

    Besides the sound quality (which I believe to be me not getting the accent) I really enjoyed this movie...intense love story about secret romance between two guys...very emotional and moving

    There are a lot of themes running throught this movie. It makes me think of when I first came out, and the finding of true love. It finally shows on the screen, all the different emotions, changes, and social restrictions on gay relationships. How th...e restrictions are not only out in the world, but inside the individual. I enjoyed the scenery of the out doors, and it made me think of a different time and place in my life. The time period when the kids in the film were growing up, I could relate too. There are so many different emotions, feelings and thoughts that this film envokes in me, I find it difficult to put them all down in this review. The movie speaks for itself, and what a person watching it takes away is all there own and completely intimate. Read more Less
