Hi Dean, I saw you last night in downtown Houston at the Red Cat Jazz Café. I was blown away by your performance!! Love your music your style ! Don’t ever stop ! As a Houstonian we are proud to know that you now make Houston your home meaning tha...t we get to hear you live more frequently. Your new solo project “Brighter Days “ did not disappoint. The soulful sexy version of Floerty’s “Say Yes” left everyone wanting more, more of this hot new saxophonist who has set the town on fire with his own distinguishable style. Dean’s sound on the horn is individual it's more than tone and phrasing, it's his ability to share his emotion with the audience letting us feel that groove as he pulls, guides us thru the Dean James experience. My favorite tune is “Neon Skies” I can’t stop humming the melody, though I thought he should have continued the final solo for a little longer. The radio stations have so much control over what we listen to, it’s sickening!! I will always be on the search for good music, wherever I can find it all the while shouting out to everyone that will listen. This artist CD’s are a must have for your CD jazz collection.
