why i am still a singleton
Pros: it's a great movie with real sadness and happiness
Cons: A good husband is not easy to be found

I don't think so. I keep fit, i don't smoke or drink. I have very normal life, Why i am still single? I am not homo, not egomania, not handicapped. I look for Mr. right always, but not yet a man who has really come into my life.
I think it's no much relating to the physical appearance, of course, male is always attracted by that at first impression. Something singleton is brought about by the standard of yourself for an ideal manWas this review helpful? Yes - NoSad and Lonely Singleton

Cons: Can be soppy in parts
This film shows Rene Zellweger (an American actress) as Bridget Jones, and English 30-something 'singleton' as she calls herself. Many parts of it I can relate to... Especially when her family and her 'smug married' friends tell her she had better 'hurry up and get *****ed' and then say 'tick tock tick tock...' etc. While my family don't care one way or the other, my work colleagues have gone on about things like this. As the New Year comes around, she decides to keep a Diary with some resolutions #1 - she will lost 20 pounds, #2 she will find nice sensible bf and #3 not continue to form romantic attachments to alcoholics, peeping toms, megalomaniacs, emotional f**kwits or perverts. What I do know for certain is that she definitely breaks resolution#2 and #3 when she initially disses the sensible Mark Darcy for the emotional f88kwit, Daniel Cleaver. Or does she finally fulfil resolution #2, when she gets to know Mark D alot more? Yes, the story has a happy ending, she and Mark (nice sensible bf) finally get together, and he buys her a new diary in order to 'start over'. As far as living happily ever after goes, I have never watched the sequel, 'Bridget Jones - The Edge of Reason', so I may never know.

I loved this movie and everything about it! It was cute, funny, realistic, and it was wonderful to see characters that any of us could know. I am anxiously waiting for the sequel!!

I dont know Colin Firth but after watching this film I fell in love with him instantly. He has the grace and the manners I simply adore. First you gonna hate him but after watching the film youll gonna love him for sure. Rene did it again. She was great in Jerry maguire. But she is definitely fantastic in this film. She gave justice to the character she portrayed.I laughed my heart out and I couldnt get enough of this film thats why I have a cd of my own. Worth every cent. I havent read the book but this film made me want to get a hold of everything that has to do with this film. Hugh portrayed his character well enough. I hate him. A true blooded chauvinist pig! Well done Hugh. I cannot imagine myself letting the chance of watching this film pass me by. Do your self a favor buy this cd and be swept off your feet too!

I like this movie a lot. It's really fun to watch and laugh... It's a great movie. A bit cliche, but it's very good. The jokes are hystarically funny and I almost choked when I watched it. One of the best ilms I had seen.

Of course I already had a major thing for Colin Firth from watching pride and prejudice a ridiculous amount of times so of course I had to like it. I guess the movie gets better if u saw pride and prejudice with Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy, some of the jokes are brilliant. I love BJ, Renée Zellweger was a perfect hit by the castingpeople. It is all very ironic. So for someone who likes Jane Austen, english humor, romance and Colin Firth - this is a given number one. And two, and three, in fact this is by far the best movie I have ever seen. Scary!

I gave it a 4 because I like the message it sends. The acting was OK. Story was Good because of a twist at the end. Would I watch it a second time? NAW! Maybe only to show a potential girlfriend that not all Men are Dogs.

I must admit I had doubts over the outcome of this movie BUT i'm glad it proved me wrong. Renee`'s acting as BJ was superb ! I certainly enjoyed the occasional cracks & blunders she gets herself into but nevertheless, it was worth the watch! a fabulous movie! if u don't mind "english humour". Hehe...*smiles*

This is one of the best Romantic Comedies I have ever seen. It deals with real life people in real life situations- with a little more romance (of Course). Renee Zellweger is just excellent as Bridget Jones. This is definitly a MUST SEE!!!!

BJ's Diary is wonderful. And for those who are fans of Jane Austen, there are so many in-jokes, starting with the casting (Firth, Grant and the woman who plays Darcy's co-worker have all been featured in recent Austen movies) and throughout the movie. But even non-Austen fans will laugh out loud at this movie. Even guys!

"Bridget Jones's Diary" is the new mother of all "laugh-out-loud" films! This movie is really fun and hilarious, so go do yourself a favour and see it!
Based on the best seller of the same name, "Diary" is directed by Sharon Maguire, an acclaimed documentary maker on her feature film debut. She does a brilliant job in this film, guiding the film and preventing it from going "over the top silly" at the bizarringly embarassing bits or too soggy and mushy at the sad bits.
Many unforgettable moments occur in this film, and I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen the film by mentioning them here. For those who have read the book before seeing the movie- beware, the movie takes a somewhat different course to the book. But still the film is smashingly spot on, and as Helen Fielding was one of the screen writers, the tone of the book is retained and preserved to the approval of mega fans of the book.
You'll love Zellweger's stumbler approach as the heroine; Firth's irresistible reprise of his Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice as another Mr. Darcy, and the against type bad guy Grant as Daniel Cleaver.

Bridget Jones's Diary is one of the funniest films I have ever seen. Bridget is a modern day singleton looking for love and some may agree when I say she represents the women in every woman. her character shows much more flaws than most modern women but it simply add to the movies humour . You will fall in love with Mark Darcy (played by Colin Firth) and Renee Zellweger whom makes a fab Bridget in this film. This film is for people who are in for a good laugh.
