    Pros: the indian flavor is interesting & entertaining

    Cons: story sort of usual - you know the 2 will get together at last

    i have no expectation from the start when I watch the movie although a friend highly recommend. It's surprisingly entertaining. The indian cultural part blend in nicely, both the storyline & also the dancing/ musical part. nice & neat from my (no...n-indian) standpoint. Certainly something quite different from usual hollywood productn. I would highly recommend anyone who has not much clue on the background of the film yet enjoy happy love story. Read more Less

    Pros: Very beautiful actors

    Cons: too rush in the final scene

    This is the best movie that comes out from Bollywood. And the best actress and the most beautiful woman in the world. I totally love her. I thorughly enjoy the movie. i went into the theatre sulking and I came out full of laughter :D. I'd like to... see more of Aishwarya Rai's movie hopefully in english language ;) She has a bright career and future in Hollywood. Read more Less

    Pros: Real Indian actors

    Cons: boring story

    I wish people would write more helpful reviews than "this movie sucks, I hate it." Someone mentioned that the actors "don't know how to speak English at all"--well hellooo, they're Indians, of course they have a different ...accent, and a slightly different vocabulary, and for some, broken grammar. But that's all part of the characters, isn't it? It would have been unbelievable for all of them to have been speaking in flawless American accents. If you think everyone who speaks English speaks it exactly the same way you do, boy oh boy... I like the fact that they took time to find real Indian actors, people who lived in India, speak like Indians. It's very real and very Bollywood at the same time. Their comedy was also very Indian. Brave to incorporate that into a movie made for an international audience that might not really appreciate it or "get it."     Pros: I loved it was funny, romantic and very entertainning

    I haven't watched a musical since Grease, but Bride and Prejudice was assome I loved every momment of the movie.

    For me is a lovley film, quite different of all the movies that we always watch in Holywood. The most beatifoul woman and a very handsome guy. with a funny story and good music... Is only enterteinmaint obviously, but a very funny and niceone. i`m re...ally enjoy this movie and i recommended to all the people who has an open mind and a a child in their hart....Is not a Bergman or Fellinì`s movie but in this times of horrors, war, and xenofophia is like a little fresh air simply LOVELY.     This was a great movie. I lhave never read Jane's Austin's novel, but if the storyline is similiar to what I have seen; it's pretty good. Getting a sneek peek of the Indian culture is great and looking through different lenses as well.

    Pros: Actors/Actresses are beautiful and visuals are colorful

    Cons: Those who don't understand the movie's concept won't like it

    Delightful and unique, Gurinder Chadha puts Western flavor to a Bollywood movie, as well as add world culture with a modern spin to Jane Austen's book. Martin Henderson and Naveen Andrews are so dreamy and portray their conflicted characters wit...h depth and charisma. The women in this movie are so beautiful and talented. I would love to see more of these women in Western cinema; because they live it daily, they truly understand how old and modern cultures clash. Although some of the songs seem a little weak, at least one is meant to be a cheesy, tongue-in-cheek tribute to Grease. The snake dance is so deliberately bad, it's hilarious. The huge dance numbers are so gorgeously choreographed and beautifully show off the bright and colorful costumes. Quite a visually stunning film, which you'll enjoy if you appreciate world culture and understand that the film is an adaptation to a Jane Austen concept injected with different flavors.
