    Pros: Unusual approach; mystery

    Cons: Sometimes over the top

    I didn't know what to expect--a murder mystery involving high school teenagers--but it was pretty creative. Being a pretty big mystery fan, I perceived some cool parallels between some of the hard-boiled mysteries I've read and seen and this ...movie. Brendan is our detective, hell-bent on solving the murder of his ex-girlfriend. Laura is the femme fatale, and the vice-principal serves as the "commissioner." This movie should be viewed as a sort of dark parody of the genre, as it's so over-the-top that it would be faulty to take it completely seriously. Read more Less
