Singer, songwriter, guitarist and upright bassist Brian Capps has had a lifelong love affair with country music and early rock roll. Born in Lebanon, Missouri, Capps' fascination with traditional country music began early when his parents took him to a Johnny Cash concert when he was five years old, and some of that old Sun sound must have gotten into his system, too, because a few years later he was playing in a local rockabilly band called the Cadillac Crusaders. Capps left the Crusaders and formed the Domino Kings with Steve Newman and Les Gallier in 1993, appearing on the group's first two albums, Lonesome Highway (1999) and Life 20 (2000), both released by Slewfoot Records, before creative differences with Newman led to his departure from the band in 2001. Capps assembled a new band, True Liars, which included guitarist D. Clinton Thompson, drummer Ron Gremp, and bassist Lou Whitney. Whitney produced Capps' solo debut album, Walk Through Walls, which was released in 2005 by Hightone Records.
