Part of the Brazilian Collection series of greatest hits compilations focusing separately on some 30 to 40 of the headliners in Brazilian music history (and most clearly on MPB artists), Zizi Possi's compilation includes works from here and there throughout her career. One of the more iconoclastic performers in the genre, Possi's works run the gamut from straightforward MPB to more straightforward contemporary pop, to the more classic end of Brazilian music (closer to the old sambas). The main pull of Possi's singing is her voice itself, which carries a worthwhile power alongside a little playfulness. The songs themselves hail from throughout her career, missing some obvious ones (such as her first hit Pedaco de Mim, as well as anything from her Per Amore album of Italian romantic song). The music is worth hearing for fans of the MPB and the fringe activity around MPB, but newcomers to the genre might do well to start with the biggest guns of the movements (Jorge Ben Jor, Gal Costa, et...c). - Adam Greenberg, All Music Guide Read more Less

There are variations apply, as in Per Amore, which is comp... Read more
