    Pros: Beautiful Music

    Yutaka's Brazasia is the best of his solo projects (although all of them are great, ie, Love Light, Another Sun, and Yutaka). If you love samba music, but are looking for something a little different, this blend of traditional Japanese instrumen...ts, Shakuhachi and Koto, is the answer. Although hard to find, out of print, and costly, the cd is well worth the investment. I have had all of his music for 10 years and have not tired of it in the least. Read more Less

    This recording is a rare jewel. It was mostly ignored by Jazz circles. Yet it received sort of a quite acclaim from its critics.Yutaka Yokukura is an extrordinary keyboardist who also plays traditional Japanese instruments such as the Koto and the S...hacuhagi. But that only part of the story with this CD. The title Brazasia actually means the fusion of the smooth sounds of Brazilian Jazz using those traditional Japanese instruments as the lead voice. This unique blend is masterfully accomplished by Yutaka. The compositions, and the musicians help to create a beautiful tropical mood which should be appreciated by anyone who is a fan of Contemporary Jazz. Although the other two releases of Yutaka's music are excellent.I think Brazasia is his most outstanding work. Read more Less
