Pros: TORQUE!!! Great low speed control, well balanced
Cons: Heavier than my old 12V (duh!), chuck tends to grab hex bits by the corners
I put a lot of miles on my old Milwaukee 12V cordless, but with 2 useless batteries and a weak third one, I decided it was time to step up.
I read a few reviews on the internet, and the BOSCH drills seemed to have some loyal fans, so I spent the $$ to get the good stuff. I really liked the 500 in.lb. torque spec.
I like the drill a lot. It is very well balanced, the charger seems to have nice features, and the chuck is very easy to open and close.
This thing has torque out the WAZZOOO, and I'm really impressed with the low speed control. Very low speed rotations make it easy to align the driver bit the to screw slot. It's quiet (for a power tool) and very smooth running.
I've only had it for a few days, so these are basically first impressions, but I'm very impressed!
It's a bit pricier than other options, but I've never regretted buying the best.
Why didn't I go with the 18.8 volt version? In addition to the higher price tag, I didn't think I needed more torque than the 14 volt version provides and didn't want the additional weight. At this point, I have no regrets. ...
