Synopsis: Born To Defence (1986)

Synopis: Set in 1945, at the end of World War II, a retired Chinese army officer, Jet Li, comes to Tsing Tao, to look for a new life. The US army is stationed in the city. One night, an arrogant US officer, Hanes, is driving recklessly and hits an innocent pedestrian. Li rushes to help, but gets into a fight with a group of US officers. Though he defeats the officers, they pursue him relentlessly from that point forward. To survive, Li has to fight for his life. In addition to using his advanced Kung-Fu skills, Jet Li demonstrates an incredible ability in the completely different US boxing style.

   Many didn't like this movie but I liked it. Actually it was rather depressing but it shows a side of Jet Li that we haven't seen before and the fighting style is completely different. It is 1945, war is over in China and the Americans are occupying the island Tsang Tao(don't know where that is). Jet goes and stays with his friend Chang, a poor ricksaw puller. Jet is con
   into entering a boxing match with the Americans. He wants to earn money for his poor friend, very righteous. He gets beaten to a pulp and is saved by the town whore who happened to be Chang's disowned daughter. Jet knowing this tries to get them back together. You will see Jet stand there and take the punches and come back for more, you'll see him cry, you see him get ballistic to take revenge on the Americans who kills his friend and daughter.
