This latest release from Glen Velez features his own fantastic hand drumming, the soulful harmonica of Howard Levy and the inventive percussion of Randy Crafton. On cuts like "Tuva" we are led by the eerie resonance of overtone singing, soul-searching harmonica melodies and the implacable insistence of the bodhran to places where things shift and one state of consciousness merges into another. Using an international array of frame drums, along with instruments from Africa, the Middle East, India and Ireland, Velez fuses ancient rhythms with jazz and world music to create new and imaginative compostions.
