Produced by Six Finger Satellite's Jay Ryan, Boldies Over Basra is another collection of Residents-ish keyboard soundscapes and rhythmically disjointed post-punk weirdness from the Men's Recovery Project. At times, the group can resemble a punkier, less electronic Atari Teenage Riot, but that, like most comparisons, ultimately doesn't quite capture the Project's unique brand of insanity -- especially on this record, which begins to somehow sport a Middle Eastern flavor in places. Overall, it's amazing in its own way, much like the rest of the group's oeuvre.
