Pure Perfection
This was my first Cocteau Twins album ever. I bought it in 1988 and haven't escaped my love of the band since.
Simply put, there is not one bad or even mediocre song on the album. They are all masterpieces. Transcendental is the only word I can think to use to describe the sound that Elizabeth Fraser and Robin Guthrie have created here.
I promise you if you haven't heard this album, buy it, listen to it with headphones, close your eyes, and get ready to take a trip. This album, unless there is something really wrong with you, will move you.Was this review helpful? Yes - Nocarolyn 's fingers

What can one say about an album which seems to transcend all earthly limitations? Few musicians are able to transport me into an alternate reality the way the Cocteau Twins can, and this album is testamentary to their brilliance. After hearing this album, I have come to the conclusion that Elizabeth Fraser is not of this world. Her soft, high-pitched croons to her low earthly rumbles, her voice is enough to drive my imagination wild. This album belongs on my top 10 list.
