    Pros: sounds more mature

    Cons: less poppy (i like that sometimes)

    probably my favorite of all the Blink albums, just because I'm not a true Blink fan. I usually like one or two songs on their other cds, and that's it. On this one, there's plenty of songs I like. The whole cd is able to be played thro...ugh without me changing songs. It's not the album of the year or anything, but definitely worth picking up, Blink fan or not, punk fan or not; this album is a lot more mellow than the rest of their stuff.     Pros: Better lyrics, better use of both voices, lots of cool experimentation in sound

    Cons: Too much Tom and not enough Mark, too many love songs

    I love this CD. I've loved all Blnk CD's actually but I really love this one. I wasn't actually expecting much when I heard they had matured because normally when a great band "matures" I ussually end up wishing they hadn't.... But not in this case. This CD is everything I hoped for and more. In fact the music industry needed this CD with all the crap that gets played on the radio today like Simple Plan and Good Charlotte. The best part about this CD is that it sounds different from the other Blink CDs, that were criticized for being too much of the same. It's more interesting because they use cool new techniques in their music. It's also cool that there are many songs where both Mark and Tom sing instead of just Mark songs and Tom songs. Although there is an unbalanced amount of mostly Tom songs. Travis, the drummer, is awesome just like he was on the Box Car Racer CD. I normally dont really notice the drumming on CDs but I noticed Travis on this one for sure. Another big difference from old CDs is that the lyrics of the songs on this CD are actually good- unlike The Rock Show and All The Small Things- 2 good songs with horrible lyrics. There are still too many songs about love and relationships but overall the lyrics are good. I will be amazed if the critics don't love this CD. Sure it's Blink but for once a Blink CD is really an amazing CD not just a CD thats fun to listen to. It's like the band has been saying- this CD is a work of art. Read more Less

    Pros: mature

    Cons: no fast paced songs

    their new album is quite good. it sounds more mature for the 3 guys. however, some might be dissapointed that the new album doesn't have a lot of fast paced songs unlike the other albums.

    Blink-182 casts off it's generic pop-punk style

    Pros: Such a diversity between tracks that shows a clear development in style.

    Cons: Not enough tracks, I wanted to hear more.

    I've been a Blink-182 fan for quite a while. I started out with 'Dude Ranch' and enjoyed their raucous style throughout my high school days. I picked up their earlier CDs 'Buddha' and 'Cheshire Cat' to discover a more yo...uthful and unpolished version of the band that I heard in 'Dude Ranch.' I eagerly awaited 'Enema of the State' and enjoyed the album, but I could notice that the songs were beginning to sound formulaic. Mark, Tom and now the addition of Travis were growing older, yet still catering their lyrics to kids that were in their late teens and early 20s. With 'Take Off Your Pants...' the band moved a bit more away from their traditional style and incorporated a bit more variety in the musical stylings, yet the lyrics remained a bit the same. It wasn't until the release of Tom and Travis' side project, Boxcar Racer that I heard the musical potential of the members of Blink-182. Mark was not unrepresented on Boxcar's album. Now with the release of 'Blink-182' the band has broken beyond their trends and developed a compellingly imaginative album that highlights their musical creativity. Using an array of recording effects and variations on the use of guitars and drums, Blink-182 really wow the listener with such a variety. While the guys don't turn their back on the problems of growing up, which I'm glad they haven't, they show a maturity beyond their earlier albums with songs like 'Stockholm Syndrome','Asthen
    ia' and 'Here's Your Letter'. All three members of the band have pushed the envelope with their ability on their respective instruments, with Travis' drumming a major highlight on many of the tracks including his dual drum kit outro of 'I'm Lost Without You'. The inclusion of Robet Smith of The Cure fame was a welcome and exciting addition to the creativity this album displays.Definitely recommended, my favorite Blink-182 album of all time.     GREAT NEW ALBUM!

    Pros: variety of meanings to lyrics, good variety of drums and guitars, more mature

    Cons: not as upbeat as their previous albums

    Blink 182 has decided to try something differnt than they have in the past. They had no joke tracks in this album, which made it more serious than all their previous ones. They used a variety of drums and recorded them in different locations to get t...he sound they want. They added 80's style in their song "Always". The lyrics were great and most teenagers and even adults can relate to them. This album reminded me of the style Tom and Travis plays in their band "Boxcar Racer." The only thing that bugged me was, there wasnt enough upbeat songs in this album. Take off Your Pants and Jacket contained numerous upbeat songs that got you jumping up and down, but this album was more mellow. Overall this is a great album. I recommend to all blink-182 fans and everyone else who likes punk. Read more Less

    Pros: Their lyrics and style are more "grown up"

    I just spent my lunch hour in total and complete bliss, listening to the new untitled Blink 182 CD. I am a pretty big fan of Blink and they are growing up right along with me (I'm 29). There is not one single song that I didn't like which I f...ind extremely rare. They still had their great Punk beats on songs such as Feeling This and Violence but has AWESOME softer sounds like I Miss You, Down, and I'm Lost Without You.     Blink are a brilliant band, and their new cd rules! its is a nice change, however contrary 2 what some ppl say it is still BLINK!! . not as fast as take orr ur pants and jacket.. but it has some awesome songs that just make u wanna party and rock!!! ...each and every single song is brilliant!! kep up the good work!!... keep giving us albums!!!!     Pros: This cd is more mature, and the lyrics are well....more grown up too.

    Cons: It doesnt sound like Blink............

    As I listened to this CD, i could barely tell it was put out by Blink 182. Overall it is a good album...but it wasnt what I expected. I mean come on guys....it sounds as if you are trying to go too "mainstream" , if that is what you were ...going for then good. I like the album, but if I am in the mood for some punk rock, i am gonna listen to something else. Read more Less

    Pros: Great lyrics [as usual] - Fantastic tempo changes and all around feel to the songs.

    Cons: Longtime Blink fans looking for more of the same ol' stuff may be dissapointed.

    Words cannot describe this amazing new Blink182 album. I've been with them since the "Cheshire Cat" album and this somewhat dramatic change in their music does not bother me at all. All the haters that want the same old stuff [albeit,... Blinks "same old stuff ROCKS!] over and over again from their favorite bands need to wake up and evolve their tastes for music just like the bands they follow do.
