    Pros: powerful blender

    Cons: jars need replacing too often

    I have the home model of the BlendTec blender. The motor is guaranteed for 8 years. I've had it a little over a year. So far, I have had to replace the jar 3 times. Currently, my third jar needs to be replaced. My cousin has a VitaMix. I noticed ...it features a stirring stick that goes down far enough to stir what you are blending without hitting the blade. I really like the way hers works. My KTec works fine, but it's a drag not being able to stir while blending, since this blender is the same price as my cousin's VitaMix. Also, now that the first year is up, they won't send me any more replacement jars under the original warranty. This means I'll have to spring for $40 every few months for each new jar...if I can get them to last even that long! If I had it to do again, Knowing what I now know, I would skip this blender and try the VitaMix instead...I did notice, though, that the VitaMix comes with two jars. Wonder if that means their jars keep going bad, too? Read more Less

    Pros: has become most used household applicance

    Cons: cost, unsure about quality

    have enjoyed making soups and juicing. it's much better than a typical blender and higher quality, however after about a week noticed it started vibrating way too much and needed to be held while blending. after two months it has stopped working ...and I sent it back to get repaired. for a product that costs so much and claims such high quality I'm disappointed to be sending it back so soon. comes with 3 yr warranty and when buying at Sam's club got another 4 years. hope it makes it that long. favorite appliance except for that.
